I was just reading through a few different posts and started thinking about the rate at which Blue Ribbons (Ribbons) are earned.

Right now, I have 31 ribbons from 6238 posts.

This is a ratio of 0.00497   or   approximately 1 BR for every 200 posts. I'm not always the most helpful, but I think I can be proud of my contributions.

Feel free to share your BR:Post ratio and comment/discuss.

In memory of a great former forum member.

JeffreyHam earned 126 BRs in 7830 posts.

That's an awesome 0.01609 ratio or approximately 1 BR for every 62 posts.

I have no idea. I lost 30-something ribbons in the great forum crash of old. How many supposed ribbons do I have now? How many posts do I have now? I can't see on mobile.

I didn't know that some were lost in a forum crash. It might have been before my time here.

It will be a miracle if i receive one BR in 2018. I'm too hot headed/stubborn at times on here. I'm also on most of the active moderators naughty list.

    Blue Ribbons

Blue Ribbons (BR) are awards given to exceptionally helpful or noteworthy posts which deserve recognition. BR's are primarily given to strong technical posts such as: detailed explanations on troubleshooting, guides for do-it-yourself projects, in-depth reviews, an extremely strong "Mods Rigs" post with pictures, and others. BR's can also be earned for each forum milestone you meet (see "Milestones, Ranks and Titles"). On a very limited case-by-case basis we may award a BR for remarkable originality even if it is not technically worthy. At our discretion, we may also award a BR to a member who has gone above and beyond by donating software or hardware to other community members.

We do NOT award BR's for posts about birthdays, personal health issues, Folding@Home*, humor, news articles (unless you are the original author), or anything else at our discretion. BR's will also not be awarded to any forum post which is a duplicate or near duplicate of another post. EVGA Management and the EVGA Forum Moderators reserve the right to rescind any BR at any time for any reason.

A Blue Ribbon will not only show that you have helped the EVGA community, but you will also earn two EVGA Bucks per ribbon! EVGA Bucks are used like a gift certificate in our online store at EVGA.com and can only be used towards products purchased on the EVGA website. EVGA Bucks cannot be used for shipping costs, any services such as extended warranties, Step-Up, or RMA, and are only able to be used in the North American or European online stores at this time. You can read more about the EVGA Bucks terms and conditions at the link here: https://www.evga.com/evgabucks/.

If you see a forum post that should earn a Blue Ribbon, please send a private message to a Forum Moderator for review.

*Folding@Home has its own promotion program so we do not award BR's for anyone who achieves a folding milestone. You can find more information about our Folding@Home team at the link here: https://www.evga.com/folding/.

related to that, anyone notice the "reward points" under your pic on the forums? I'm pretty sure it's some system that either was never used or dropped at some point, but wasn't removed from the profile info when posting.

Ribbons are still listed there, and while I have received a few, I don't do a ton of stuff that blue ribbon like.

my ratio seems to be about 1 BR to 360 posts

No ribbons so either infinite or divide by zero error. I like the sound of infinite better :)

What Steve B posted.   I like to see well thought out posts in a attempt to be helpful to another person.    Someone putting some significant time into the thought process.    Some are just helpful and marked helpful and I consider that too.   Best bet is to report a post you think worthy of a ribbon.  It will be evaluated but doesn't guarantee.    We have about 6 or so active mods and opinions will vary on the subject.   I can say that over my time here, I've gotten 60.   Those posts were personal attempts to answer a question or provide a solution, which is why the forums really do exist from a member stand point.   Ratio has no relevance really other than to say a person may attempt more time trying to help others.

0 so far, but I'm still new here. Ribbons or not, I do hope some of my ramblings can help people figure things out.
