long time lurker here
In my country cheapest 3080 is ~1500euro and out of stock so evga even with tax is cheaper
I've been on the queue for the 3080 since 17/9[9/17/2020 10:38:38 AM PT] Unfortunately with the way things are going,a 3080ti is my one and only hope of getting a a new gpu this year at a relativity reasonable price.
I am already an elite member.(have a 1080ti registered) so all i can do is wait. just hope the site doesn't crash....

Even higher prices in Estonia. I'm in a similar position in terms of queue hopes... I also have a decently early time(3070.. forgot which model, 30/10/2020 at around 4 AM PT), yet I feel a 3070ti might be more likely to get at this point... Just gotta get those posts ;)

Guys,
I am stepping out of the queue. Had a phone call with a retailer yesterday, originally for cancelling an order for a Gainward Phantom which is not expected to arrive until late '21 or even in '22, and to my surprise they offered me an EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Black (10G-P5-3881-KR) ā the exact model I queued up for at EVGA back in September '20.
So hopefully by the weekend I'll finally be a happy 3080 owner (and still be able to sell my current 3070 for a decent price).

I gave my rtx 3060, decided that scalping is a bad move, however I am really excited for the 3070 ti/3080 ti launch, will definitely snag one of them and make a 1500-1700 pc build

well, it depends. the only way i see this trick coming through is when your us friend is paying and getting card and resending it to you as a gift. (payment of customs duties, vat, etc incoming also, depending on your country customs` rules) similar questions in us queue thread been asked. supersiusiak

You need a NA credit card to pay and a NA address for shipping. A US paypal account backed by a EU CC or bank account won't work either... In the past there were ways around it but these days it's nearly impossible. Also, you'll end up paying taxes twice. US state tax and the EU import tax & VAT. And the latter includes shipping so you'll pay alot more. I got my two cards from the NA queue to EU but only because relatives helped receiving repacking and transporting. I also think that if you got a card on the NA queue, you won't be receiving an invite to buy on the EU list for the same SKU. If they will ever send them ;)

3080 xc3 black nowhere to be seen/found in the eu since release. I've seen the XC3 as well as the FTW models popping up on alternate.de every now and then in the last weeks, but never managed to get one. And apparently some of those were sold on amazon, but apart from that only crickets and tumbleweed. Guess how surprised I was to learn that a smaller retailer (with a rather crappy looking webstore) had one in stock. ETA is saturday, btw.

The rumored dates for some time now are announcement date May 31st, reviews date June 2nd, launch date June 2nd or 3rd for the 3080 Ti. The launch date for the 3070 Ti will probably be June 9th or 10th...

although the 8gigs of vram is likely going to be an issue.A 3070ti with 16gigs of vram would be perfect.

you have to have US registered credit card and address. My friend accidently signed in to US queue, received email, tried to buy, even asked his US friend to ship it to him, but he couldn't pay. He lives in UK

But apart from the looks I have to say, the OC'd 3070 Eagle did a very good job. If it wasn't for that last bit of extra performance for running ACC in VR, I'd have happily sticked with the 3070. Too bad I'm in the middle of preparing a move across the country and my sim rig is dismantled atm (my PC even was already packed in its box), so I'll have to wait a while until I can use the full potential of the GPU. So far I've been testing some games at highest settings on my 1920x1200p workplace monitor, and the GPU is just bored.

Honestly, I could never care much about the looks of the hardware like a GPU. What it needs is to get the job done.
I'd buy a 3080 at a reasonable price even if it had looks that only a mother could love š

Mainly the looks. Like mentioned before, I had a Phantom on preorder (for a reasonable price of 1069ā¬) and would have taken it without hesitation, but it looks hideous (not as ridiculous as a Palit Game Rock, tho). Overall, I don't like most AIB designs of the Ampere Cards. The FEs have a very clean and stylish approach, but most of the AIB's shrouds look like children's toys trying to appear somewhat "aggressive" with their sharp edges and stuff. (I like the XC3 and FTW3 designs, btw.)
