In the EVGA book "62" code  means "...you should have bought an ASUS MB",  but in the ASUS Manual, code 62 means "Shuoldda bought an EVGA"

Sorry to tease but those codes crack me up. The real codes says "Installations of the South Bridge runtime services"

If this is a spanking fresh build, reload/update the latest chipset driver.

    +1,
    How EFI loads.
PEI phase (beeps) starts/loads permanent memory in the platform, next Driver execution (DXE) drivers can beloaded. Two of the processes of DXE foundation component are Boot services and run time services.  For AMI EFI (Aptio) the Code 62 states "Installation of the South Bridge Runtime Services".
I would say your EFI is failing at this point.

How is this possible, my EFI is failing? The board is brand new, and this is a spanking fresh new build. The board isn't even two months old!

Switch to the other BIOS and see if it works.  I believe that each BIOS file contains the EFI/UEFI/BIOS commands to run correctly.  If you board does not have a switchable BIOS, then you will need to load a fresh copy via a Flash drive.

Agreed, the Z68-FTW has 3 different bios the switch is at bottom towards the left side. Check for newest bios  (A05) after you switch it.

During motherboard installation, I accidentally bumped the BIOS switch. Is there a "default" position that this switch ships with or is supposed to be in?

Right now, the BIOS switch is positioned all the way to the left. Is this the "correct" position the switch is supposed to be in?

No the slider switch on far left chooses bios 1,2 or 3. The other 2 are power reset and bios reset witch resets bios to default settings, no OC-ing, or other user changed setting, like safe mode.

Gotcha! Thanks for the clarification. In regards to the slider switch, which position should it be in, or doesn't it matter? I bumped the slider switch during motherboard installation and right now, the slider switch is positioned to the far left position. Is there a default position that this slider switch should be in for first boot/POST?

No default, you can use them for setting each one up custom if you want easy switching without reentering all of your settings. Plus you can save 4 different configurations in each bios.

All positions on the BIOS switch come with the same copy from the factory.  You can update each position to a different version of BIOS>
