A 3090 will be a huge upgrade for me and I’m just wondering what everyone is planning on driving with these new GPUs.

I'm happy to stay with a 25 inch 1440p screen at 144hz.   Don't like large monitors, makes me feel like I'm in the front row of the cinema.

I currently get about 90 to 100fps on modern games with my 2080 at 1440, so if the 3090 can maintain 140fps at 4k I might look for a 4k monitor, but if not I'd rather get a monitor that lets me hit 240hz at 1440p

I am still using an older 1440p monitor myself but probably will upgrade this generation. Hopefully the fact the 3080 puts 4K gaming into the hands of many more gamers we will see a lot more interest in manufactures into making 4K gaming focused monitors and hopefully it leads to a price war that is good for everyone. I am also wondering if the 3090 might give us 8K monitors this generation.

I have a Samsung curved 3440x1440 @100hz And I love it, I wouldn't mind upgrading but as was said before "once you go ultrawide you never go back" and that rings true lol
The only monitor to be an ultrawide upgrade (not count refresh...) is the LG 5k2k (34WK95U-W 34'' Class 21:9 UltraWide® 5K2K Nano IPS LED Monitor with HDR 600) 60hz though

So I'll wait for 4k ultrawide (5120 x 2160) to be more widely available as I'm sure they will be, then I'll look at the 3090 or alternatives at the time lol

A philips 4k HDR 43" monitor, it's only 60hz, but I also have a nearby Samsung QLED TV the Q80T model which can do 120hz @ 4k, provided you use the gaming input and have HDMI 2.1, and has freesync, which might mean I can use Gsyc compatable mode. Still I'm not 100% sure on all that, but I have options. Planning on going for a RTX 3080

Right now I've got an Asus PG27UQ next to an Asus VP28U

Very seriously considering adding an Asus PG43UQ and having the 2 smaller monitors above it.

Is there a distinguishable difference in input lag in a OLED 4k display vs gaming monitors?

1440p Ultrawide. I was thinking of going with a 4k/144Hz monitor but have since decided just stay with what I have since I want to go with a 3080.

LG 55SM9010 Nanocell TV. It has 4x HDMI 2.1 ports so the 3090 will be a perfect match for 4K 120hz 4:4:4 HDR + G-sync. I say the 3090 but the 3080 is also looking like a good card. If the 3090 is not significantly better at performing then i'll just got with a 3080. But if it can do like 160-180FPS in 4K with all bells and whistles turned up then i'll go for it. Just need to see some reputable benchies first

Shield Wulf
I am lucky to have a couple nice monitors.  My wife games too so we can buy twice as much stuff haha!  We have an LG 38GL950G.  3840x1600 and 160hz with GSync, hoping to push near the limits of my monitor's refresh rate.  And we just bought a 65 inch LG CX after our 3 year old TV randomly died.  So I am pumped for a nice 3080 to push these screens.

I also have the LG 38GL950G, and I really hope it's possible to allow a bit more bandwidth through the HDMI 2.1 with a firmware update.
If I'm not mistaken, the physical connector is exactly the same in 2.1, it's a matter whether the chipset/processor/whatever-it's-called in the monitor can handle the extra bandwidth.

If the monitor can already reach 8bit@160hz w, maybe 10bit@175hz or at least either higher color depth or refresh rate is just a little extra bandwidth than what the DP 1.4 couldn't achieve but the monitor processor can.
Maybe that's how it works?!

'Lotta LG OLED TV's going on in here, and rightfully so!

Still have my primary LG 950F Ultrawide 3440x1440 144hz, I'm hoping the 3080 will be enough to max out top tier games on it.
Pretty much one of the reasons why I'm not considering the 3090, might be too much, and by the time newer more demanding games are out, new GPU's will be out or around the corner once again, pretty much rendering the extra juice in the 3090 useless. We'll see.

Also have a 65 C9, but I don't think I'll wire my main PC to it as it has it's own PC waiting for a potential 3060 upgrade or lower end 2000 series like the 1660ti?

They do look gorgous but isn't the biggest concern for gaming that constant UI elements on screen will cause burn in damage?
