What is the fan spacing on the CLC 280 and 240?

    Thanks

    I not sure what do you mean fan spacing? Maybe you mean fan sizes? If so for 240 fans are 120 x 120 x 25mm (x2) and 280 fans are 140 x 140 x 25mm (x2)
Or you mean the two fans space? if so there few 1-5mm space between two fans...
I hope if that help you?

The spacing determines the mounting points.  The majority standard is 20mm for 140 and 15mm for 120.  However, some AIO's have 15mm for 140.  My case is the majority standard, so it is 20mm for 140 and 15mm for 120.

What case do you have and where on the case do you plan on mounting the cooler?

It's the spacing between the closest mount points/holes on the fans.  I have an Antec P100 and would be mounting it at the top as the drive cage isn't removable.

Looking at images and videos show casing a fully built system using this case, you should not have any issues mounting either the CLC 240 or 280 with room to spare between the radiator + cooler and the drive cage.

The problem isn't room, it's where the actual mounting holes are located.  In this case the CLC 280 is 15mm fan spacing.  So since my case is 20mm I'd either have to cut up my case or only screw in one side of the radiator as the mounting holes for the other side would be under metal.

the only dimension on any standard 120mm and 140mm fan that comes remotely close to those values (15mm and 20mm) is the fan depth at both mounting points where the screw protrudes to mount to the radiator and or the fan to the case other than that you should have no issues mounting the fan plus the radiator to that case and you should not need to make any modifications whatsoever.

It's sounds like you may be confused or are trying to ask something other than what your question means. 120mm and 140mm fans are standard and are the same for all manufacturers, so they can fit universally. The radiator, therefore must adhere to those standards. If you're speaking about the distance between the 2 center mounting point screw holes, it is 15mm, which is irrelevant for mounting, as you would not install screws in every single hole for mounting to the case. The 4 corners are more than enough for that, but you could choose to install the other screws in the middle, as your case allows. I have included an image that may help explain it better.

I'm not confused, not all radiators are setup the same.

"The market for 280mm units like the Corsair H110 is actually very young and as result there aren’t currently any universal guidelines in place for what standards these units should conform to. In particular I am referring to “fan spacing”. For 240mm, 360mm and 480mm radiators, it is commonly accepted that 15mm is the appropriate level of spacing – so every unit on the market uses this spacing. However, 280mm/420mm radiators do not have this universal fan spacing standard. Corsair have opted for 20mm spacing and NZXT have opted for 15mm spacing. Depending on which case you have this could prove to be a crucial element of the buying process."

"Unlike 240mm and 360mm radiators, which are more common, 280mm (and 420mm) radiators have no standardized fan spacing.  Three of the five top-selling DIY aftermarket 280mm radiators use 20mm spacing, which is why Corsair cases use this spacing.  It is also why our H110 uses this spacing."

Hence my debacle, I can only fit a 280mm AIO in my top mount that uses 20mm spacing.  280mm AIO's with 15mm spacing only have half the holes shown at any time without modifying the case.  I can either screw in the four holes on the right side of the rad or the ones on the left if I install something like the EVGA CLC 280.
