I note the 100-post restriction has been taken off the marketplace "For Sale" forum. That was instituted specifically to help combat scammers coming in and buying from /selling to EVGA members and ripping them off. Then again, with Mods now encouraging crypto-miners to post spam on the forums to get their 'elite status' GPU deals, I guess it doesn't really matter. Shame these forums are being let go like this after so many years, and all in the name of greed.

what makes you believe those who are trying to get past 100 posts are miners? I'm not, just looking to get a 1080ti for gaming after several years of gaming exodus only to be met with scandalous pricing

Most of the 100 posts maybe called spam posts to get to 100, which is supposed to disqualify the member from getting market place access I thought.

With the limit of 1 per customer in place, I seriously doubt many cryptomorons are going to jump through hoops for just 1 card.

Sad to say, that is directly EVGA’s fault for having a 100 post count to access the elite program. There were many better option that were completely missed.

just to be fair its not only newbies spamming the forums, there are many that spam with pointless comments and threads that have many thousands of post, i have seen people with join dates of a few years have post counts of 15k plus, how much of that is spam post.
Don't get me wrong the elite program is a joke with the requirements it has now, it should have been much higher post count plus 3 or 4 products registered, a modsrigs system, 1 yr minimum since joining and maybe have a few blue ribbons. if your going to call it elite then make it truly a elite thing

Some interesting ideas in those posts ..... respectful requests may get traction.... eventually

It seems to be a Marketing thing -- not sure if the Nvidia direct to consumer "retail cards" through Best Buy has any correlation ?

How about you try reading. I wrote;

so cut the "AH-HA YOU'RE WRONG!" crap.

Yes I see, "Last amendment: 10/24/2014", but look at the "last updated" at the bottom of that post:
"post edited by Sajin - Tuesday, February 28, 2017 0:07 PM"

Just because someone wrote something on 10/24/2014 doesn't mean that was it, and clearly it was not the last edit. I was advised by a Mod that the drop from 100 to 50 happened 2016, so AH-HA YOU'RE WRONG! ...sheesh.

Imho that will just end up with adding hundreds of crap postings in the ModsRigs thread that are total trash, and end up ruining that thread as well.
Registered purchase only imo.

Again, I was advised by a Mod that the change to post count was made in 2016.

What does it matter anyway? It changed, I wasn't aware of it, and apparently others weren't either. Is there a point to this questioning?

True on the Rig but then most miners do no have a computer that can run Benchmarks
Also they need to create a MODS RIGS for the BR as well with Photos but lately BR are give them with out even creating a MODS RIGS Page.
You need Photos and Benchmark Scores and they Should Require Both 3DMark 11 & 3DMark Fire Strike Scores with Valid Links.
Also some MODS RIGS Have Scores for Two Graphics Cards running in SLI but now only have ONE Graphics Card and are still using their Old Scores.
When you change Hardware you should create a NEW MODS RIGS of have the honesty of redoing the Benchmarks are upgrading the Scores with the ONE Graphics Card on their MODS RIGS Page.
That way they are not Cheating on the Top 10 Page.

Re: What is happening to EVGA forums? 2018/02/18 11:04:49 (permalink)
What was the point of this thread? The change, again, was in 2014, not 2016. The adjustments after 2014 were typographical corrections. Mods don’t make the rules, EVGA does. Just because a mod made an adjustment to words does not change that the requirement was set in 2014.

The elite membership post requirement should simply be erased, and stop with the spam requirement. Just add a “sign up” button for those that already have evga hardware.

I said what was the point to your questioning me repeatedly, not what was the point to this thread... sheesh!

A Mod (think it was Cool GTX on a ticket thread) told me the change to post count was in 2016. Again, what was the point of you questioning it? What difference does it make either way if it was 2016 or 2014 - the point was it is now 50 not 100, and I corrected myself accordingly before you decided to jump in this thread and "call me out" on it... Please just stop it right now, there is no further response necessary.

...and after all that, you appear to be agreeing with me about the point of this thread which was regarding the spam and elite status. I also suggested only for individuals who have registered products, otherwise there's nothing "elite" about it.
