Still getting used to Precision X1. Used to the older Precision XOC. Is the button for "Fan Curve Control" essentially Automatic fan control? How does it differ from the Auto setting on the main page of the X1 interface?

The fan curve is for setting up your own custom fan curve.  So say at 30C you have your curve set to 40% fan speed.  Then at 50C, maybe your fan speed is 60% etc.  Whatever works for you.  You can set it up, change it anyway you like.  Just remember to click apply and save when done setting things up.

Okay, thanks. I am mostly wanting to stick to one of the presets for my fan curve. Right now, I am more concerned that they come on during games or when the card heats up under load.

The issue is not the curve itself that I am using, but rather how to use or Apply the curve automatically. In the old version of Precision XOC I would just click "Enable Automatic Fan Control." Is that the same as what "Fan Curve Control" does in Precision X1? The "Auto" option on the main page didn't seem to do anything - partially because my card was not very warm at the time.

To restate: How do I "Enable Automatic Fan Control" in Precision X1?

The "Auto" button allows you to manually use the fan sliders if you turn auto off.  It will be greyed out.  Highlighting "Auto" by clicking it will use a custom fan curve you set up or one of the presets you choose in the Fan Curve Control properties section.  But you must have Fan Curve Control toggled on for it to work.

If you toggle off Fan Curve Control (in properties) and higlight "Auto" on the main interface, your fans will operate with the built in default fan(s) profile.
