I use Norton mobile, and the obvious Google maps and Chrome, as well as Outlook, Amazon Kindle, Amazon Music, Netflix. I was a big fan of the HopStop app (a must-have in NYC) until Apple bought it out for $1B and removed it from Android and then even the internet. - just one more reason to despise Apple. I'm avoiding many apps because of the insane permissions most of them demand - I'm waiting for Android Marshmallow so I can then choose which permissions are allowed at app level, THEN I'll start looking at using my phone more. Oh, I also have a game "World of Goo" by 2DBoy - it's one of the few games that don't require any permissions, and that's how it should be. Also it's a cool game. :) LG G4 btw.

The Android apps you put on your phone will vary depending upon your needs. For me I have: TomTom Mobile Microsoft Outlook TechPowerUp Facebook BBC News Android Authority Android News AndroidPIT Booking.com Chase eBay Geek Dropbox OneDrive My T-Mobile Instagram UPS Mobile USA Today Installed on a Motorola Moto X Style (best value for dollar Android phone in my opinion)

It is crazy the amount of permissions some apps request. Google and other app stores need to crack down on developers data mining users for profit.

I switched from LG G4 to Pixel XL since posting on this thread 2 years ago, and currently considering Pixel 2 XL - I'd go for it, except they removed the headphone plug ..grrr. The Pixel phones have an awesome camera though - one of the best cellphone cameras available. Being a Google phone, I'm using many of the Google apps now - and I'm happy with them. - Google Photos - with significant additional bonuses for Pixel owners btw
- Snapseed - a good and free photo editor for on-the-fly use, and fits in well with Google Photos app
- City Mapper - excellent free app that replaces HopStop which I lamented the loss of in my last post
- Chrome - I tried FireFox but it was crashing too often, so I uninstalled it
- Amazon Kindle
- Amazon Music
- Netflix
- Google Maps
- Gmail & Outlook apps, although I may ditch Outlook and run it all through Gmail app, still thinking about that one.
- Google Calendar
- Google Drive
- Norton Mobile Security
- GizmoHub - for use with GizmoPal2 watch for keeping track of / in contact with our 5 year old
- Sensi - for home HVAC control
- Google fit - but for some reason it sometimes thinks I'm biking when I'm walking O.o
I flatly refuse to put FaceBook app on my phone - super invasive. Mostly use my Amazon Fire tablet for games now due to excessive and invasive permissions on phone apps.

Honestly, I basically just use Google Products such as Google, Chrome, Gmail, Calendar etc. But of course I also use social media such as Instagram; For my launcher I use Action now after switching to it from Nova.

Me too ..... , I don't like having too many useless apps on my phone, as i have a iPhone , so i will be more concerned about the relationship between the two,
