I've been checking amazon.ca, the EVGA store, newegg.ca and bhphotovideo.com 5 to 10 times per day to try and get a xc3 3080 card ever since initial launch date.

I've also never been able to get ONE notification email to order (even though I've setup "notify me" on all of these site). I really need the xc3 3080 because that's the only card I can fit in my pc case...

C'mon guys if I hear another "just keep trying and keep checking the store and try to beat the bots" reply, this is impossible to do... Please help.

It's essentially a paper launch. I check a couple times a day.. nothing. Just how it is. Asking for help is not going to magically conjure up a GPU for you.
 
I suppose there's two ways to look at it. Either Nvidia purposely keep the quantities low on launch in order to create a feeding frenzy (all publicity is good), or they simply decided to launch as quickly as possible and not bother to make enough prior to launch to at least sort of satisfy the demand.
 
From my point of view, nothing has changed. I still have the same rig I've been playing games on for a few years now, and I can still play the games. The lack of 3080s has not caused my computer to seize up. Eventually the GPU I want will show up for sale and I'll buy it. Nvidia hasn't created any good will out of this, but there's nothing we can do about it unless we buy an AMD GPU.. which I really, really, don't want to do. We can't bite the hand that feeds, but we can loath it.

Also, I refreshed Newegg's website for two days non-stop on my phone and computer and saw the 3080 FTW3 drop...managed to buy it but my order got voided. Just shows how many people are watching for these cards...I'd just wait until supply evens out a bit more

Near some tar pits, hence the slow release, I'm guessing.
 

Eventually supply will be high enough that the bots would be unprofitable. This isn't a limited time product like fancy sneakers.

What is the expectation of stock refills between now and the end of October?  Are we talking 100-300 units per week or 1000+ per week (across all skus)?

It would be nice to prioritize local pick ups and local stock. It’ll help out businesses and also deter bots from getting more stock. If it’s truly bots buying up all stock.

If retailers would start to get a decent amount of cards that would lessen the online strain. I'd much rather drive to my local store to pick up a card.

I would hope we have sufficient stock before January. Once the other manufacturers get some stock out there won't be so much strain on EVGA either. I'd much rather have a Strix but ASUS has been horrible at communicating availability.

More websites should have bot protection, like its unrealistic for a human to checkout in 1 sec after the cards are up for grabs.

I've had a 3080 & 3090 FTW3 in the cart and believe me I'm fast, not a chance. Got all the way to submit order on both, the 3090 through the Elite page and poof! gone. I am waiting like everyone else. I know this probably isn't feasible but what about an invitation to purchase via an email link using a license key?

Even if we get more in and more regularly it’s still going to be a challenge through the holidays. By Jan I think you’ll be able to get the card with relative East. Before then you’ll have to play the game.
