The EVGA 1080 Ti HydroCopper FTW3 was the best graphics card that I've ever had. Some time ago I noticed my water tank being low/empty twice in two weeks. I checked all water connections but everything seemed fine. Worrying was that water seemed to leak somehow onto my PSU and power cables at the bottom of the case. Two days ago I noticed it had to come from the graphics card but everything was tightened. I put some cloth under it and it is coming from between the card and the waterblock :( It's dripping down at two points because the water is everywhere in the space between card and block. I checked all screws but they are all fine. I didn't follow the PC market lately as I had planned my next upgrade after Corona, so I was totally surprised to see the entire stock of evga cards in Germany empty and only two cards available for 25 ish$ in the US shop, lol. Long story short, I ended up ordering a random air cooled rtx 3070 for 1600(!) € so I can at least use my PC for work again... Bad time for a card to die. At least my PSU didn't go kaboom.

What are you going to do with the leaking one? Fix it and sell it?

No. If i was able to fix it, I'd keep using it. That card may still be more powerful than some random 3070.

If you don't think that you can fix it, find someone else to fix it for you. ;) It is almost certainly repairable. You should at least take it apart so that you know exactly where it failed and how hard it could be to repair it. Usually, what happens is that an o-ring deteriorates. You drain it, take the card out, take the waterblock off of the card, take the water block apart at the seam, and replace the o-ring with a new o-ring coated in a light coat of vaseline. The o-ring may be hard to find though. You have to find it from a supplier based on its very specific strange total diameter. You go to an industrial supplier to source the o-ring. HeavyHemi, that isn't a water block. That is just the top and LED lights. The full block is also available, but not for that cheap.

Thanks for trying to help. I'll try what you suggested but the replacement card is already underway. I'm not confident enough to manipulate a waterblock, but if the replacement is there, I could try. That's why I only buy cards with it already attached (and because I still find EVGA is the best). Time is important too as I need the PC for work. Is it common for these cards to start leaking after some years? I've never had one for this long now (3 years).

I don't think it is common, but it could happen. You wouldn't be the first person to report the o-ring deteriorating. But, another possibility is that corrosion occurred due to using the incorrect coolant or not changing the coolant often enough, and metal was eaten away to the point that it started to leak. Until you take the card apart, it will be hard to speculate about why it started leaking.

Sorry to hear, and oof someone made bank on that 3070. What's your plans with the 1080 Ti? I'd be happy to buy and fix it myself, especially because I also am using a 1080 Ti Hydrocopper, but I'm not sure how much shipping to the US would be.
Have water, will cool.

I was able to replace it and everything still works. I'll probably keep the old card and put it somewhere on display. It looks awesome ^^ Edit: I still prefer EVGA even after this disaster which should not have happened to a 1600€ card imo, and plan to upgrade when the EVGA 3090 Ti HydroCopper FTW3 is out (or however it will be called then).
