My main rig with the EVGA SR-3 Dark and Corsair AX1600i PSU won't turn on. I have multiple PCs so I rotate using them (1 week on, 1 week off etc.) and so this rig with the SR-3 Dark was not in use for about a week. I have all my computers connected to multiple UPS (2400W each) so although we did have a few thunderstorms during the week, there were no issues I encountered (with the Z490 PC I was using). I opened the case and pressed the "power" button on the motherboard and still nothing. I do see the LED lights on the motherboard turn on (white) so I know there's power going to it. This is very concerning so any help is appreciated. Should I reset CMOS? Is this a PSU issue? I really hope there's nothing wrong with the SR-3 Dark motherboard itself. I'm on the latest BIOS (v1.06). PLEASE HELP! EDIT: I held down the "RESET" button on the motherboard and it counted down from 4 to 0 and then it displayed an error code of "E2." I looked that code up in the manual and it says "Video Repost." Not sure what that means?!

Hmm. What happens when you try your gpu in another pci-e slot, or try a completely different gpu in the system?

I haven't tried that yet - have the RTX 3090 SLI in there so have to dismantle that and try just one GPU. I tried turning it on without connecting any of the monitors, still nothing. It doesn't even boot or spin up. DEJ915 Does it exhibit the same behaviour with another bios?
Yes, I tried flicking it to BIOS #2 and still nothing - no fans spinning, no lights turning on etc. Just the white LEDs on next to the memory modules (3x white lights) and the white LED next to the BIOS switch. I checked the power cord of the PSU to see if there was an issue but nothing. I'm not sure what happened. I've been doing this routine (1 PC per week and then switch etc.) and have had no issues until this morning.

Update: 1.) Removed both GPUs and tried powering on the system - no dice! 2.) Removed CMOS battery and reinstalled after 2 minutes - no dice! 3.) Removed all PCI-E devices and tried again - no dice!
4.) Disabled all PCI-E slots using mobo dip-switches - no dice! At this point, I'm not sure what the hell is going on?! I really don't want to dismantle the whole rig. I'm amazed that there is almost no info online about the "E2" error code other than basic descriptions of what it is - no info on how to resolve it! HELP!

Tried reseating the CPU - no dice. Got some new CMOS batteries from Amazon - should be here tomorrow so will try changing that out. But, not sure if that would work.

Take the UPS out of the loop and plug straight into the wall. We've seen stuff like this with UPS' many times before. They develop issues like anything else, especially being they are surge/conditioner/ power units.

Hmm.. I do have a home surge protector and my home has 300A so should be plenty. I added the UPS as an additional layer of protection. Will plugging it into the wall just bring the system back to life? My Z490 Rig is plugged into the same UPS (I use only one system at a time) and it's working flawlessly.

It may, but the only way to know is to try. Its the easiest thing to do and since your problems seem centered around power it may work. Its a common problem to run into, sometimes they conflict with some PSU's circuitry etc... When you unplug it, before you plug it back in pull the cmos battery and push the power button down on the mobo or your case so it drains all the residual stored energy, THEN plug the psu straight into the wall and boot. That way the whole rig has to boot a fresh post search and isnt working off any residual caches. You will have to re-setup your bios though. If it doesnt work the next move is to pull the gpu and try it in the other machine and see if any issues follow it. If the gpu checks out then the next move would be to use the other gpu in the broken machine and see if that works.... if no joy there then you will have to break the rig down to its lowest amount of components to get a boot with no errors, meaning: 1 ram stick, i hdd/ssd, cpu, different gpu, and psu and see what happens from there.Def pull out all the usb stuff and extra pci-e cards you have...we want as little things in the equation as possible and work from there. All white leds next to ram etc... means your ok....if they were erroring they would be a different color like red or yellow.

Okay, just tried what you said - pulled the UPS out of the loop and plugged the PSU directly into the wall (20A socket). Pulled CMOS battery out beforehand and held power down for > 10 seconds. Plugged PSU into the wall and still nothing! The white LEDs light up next to the RAM sticks so that seems good. I pulled both GPUs out of the system - currently the only thing in the system are 2x NVME SSDs, Intel 905 PCI-E SSD (main OS drive) and that's it! No peripherals are connected. Only thing plugged in is the PSU. Do I have to have a GPU in the system for it to turn on? Was trying to test it with no GPU since "E2" is "Video Repost?" Been trying all of these things without the GPUs in the system.

Oh man, thats good to hear. I was going to say that maybe the vbios got corrupted on the board cause they will not boot if the bios is messed up in anyway, that was my last guess.

I have the exact same power supply and had the exact same issue. Replacing the CMOS battery did the trick.
