I plan on being on this build for a long time my last seasonic psu's I ran for 8 and 13 years. Until I retired them and well both PC's got upgrades "one got fully replaced".
My build I do know I may not hit 90-100% load gaming only thing I may even come close is CP 2077. Looking at the long haul.... Looking over some PSU's doing some reading these are what I am debating on.

Brang for your buck psu seems to be and I do believe is an upgraded seasonic?
EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2

My other options
I do know this psu is not digital but still good just a bit pricy for what it is.
Seasonic Prime TX-1600

This psu seems to be in the middle of high power, digital, and a little cheaper:
be quiet! Dark Power Pro 1500

The premium of the 1600's seems to be pricy for something that will not ever be 3.0 compatible:
CORSAIR AXi Series AX1600i

Goal is the long run like the seasonic psu's I retired, never having the power supply stressed, with my 3090 TI FTW3 Ultra Gaming or if I break down and get a 4090 o 4090 TI when they come out. The performance at my resolution and higher is a bit too hard to ignore is why I may break down.

Know people with ES 13th gen cpu's and ES 4090's and well I do know with their overclocks to even stock their systems are pulling a ton of power.

The 3090 TI was not even planned, just saw that 1099.99-1149.99 sale and said gimmie on impulse for smoother gameplay at that cost. So far my games at my resolution all of them run smooth and I am using more than 12gb+ of vram in a few of them cranking the eye candy way up, yet unlike my 3080 and 3080 12gb I have complete smoothness in frames and gaming due to it. But yeah I want to never even hit close to 80% of my power supplies wattage keeping it way under to account for age and age degradation for the long run.

Input would be greatly appreciated. I just want my psu to last a long long time. I do know these psu's are way over what I would need. Yet I plan on using the psu for more than five years so trying to account for that, especially not even using 80% of their total power output at least on my PC right now. I have options but price wise a lot of them have me going hmmm. None of them even come with all the sleeved cables I would want. the sata power cables being sleeved is like why even bother with just those?

If your not in a rush to build, i would hold off for power supply with naive 16 pin (12VHPWR) connector.

Oh the build is already up and running. Just my wife’s pc should have a 1000-1200w and I need at least a 1500w+. Figure give her my 1200w psu and get a 1500w+ for my setup. This will just ensure both PSU’s on both systems never even hit 80% of their load.

Will be using both for at least 8 years, doubt I’ll get 13 like my old setup with the i7 970 ES, x58 and the Seasonic x750 gold psu that I retired. System is now a media pc with a GTX 680 at my mother in laws tossed in a Corsair RM850X over kill for the system but yeah.

Only PSU near 1600 I've seen so far has been the HXi1500 Corsair put out a few months ago. It's newer than the AXi1600 and Cybernetics Platinum certified: https://www.techpowerup.com/296760/corsair-announces-the-2022-hxi-power-supply-series

Seen a bunch of 1200 models from various brands, but I suspect Corsair is sitting on its ATX 3.0 designs. JonnyGuru mentioned Corsair only recently got a 4090 in-house to play with so it will probably take time to test, validate, build, and finally wait on those new models to get certifications before they can finally be launched.

Yeah I have seen the same, just wanting to come to a solution now a buy once and if I get a 4090/4090 TI later have the psu that will be like I’m game. Not to mention last me for the next eight years at least not being stressed at all. Have options now each has their pros and cons. The newer HX1500i is also an option. Just the idea of a Titanium is more sound but corsair does make some of the best stuff around.

There is always a catch in getting a new hardware, but when it comes to PSU? You need to be sure what you are getting is top notch.
Whether you like it or not, you need to wait for the new PSUs to mature and see what is the best out there. If you want to get a better PSU for your 3090ti, i would wait for black fridays deals coming next month.
It doesn't hurt to have a spare PSU laying around just in case.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

It seems like Corsair is either majorly delayed or won't be coming out with an ATX 3.0 design.  They put out a press release a week ago that their current power supplies are compatible with 40 series gpus:
    https://www.corsair.com/newsroom/press-release/ready-to-go-beyond-fast-corsair-announces-compatibility-for-nvidia-40-series-graphics-cards

I don't think you would put that out in a press release if they had an ATX 3.0 ready to go and just about to launch.   I suppose it is a testament to the quality of parts Corsair uses (high capacity caps, etc).

Would be nice to get an updated PSU with the 12-pin connector.. I think the AX1600i is almost 5 years old now. I bet we will see one next year if I were to guess.

I wait for one for the acceptable wattage, my wife's pc is not going to make it playing at 4k on her setup the long run, I overclock I may not make it. Best solution is to give her my 1200w she will have more than enough power, I get a Corsair HX1500i and then I will have more than enough power even with transient spikes I will be fine even on a 4090/4090 TI. Me having a 1500w quality psu it wont matter if the cards go full ham on startup and demand some crazy amount of power, the PSU will provide more than enough. Those with say 750-850w's ummm yeah GL with that.
