Hi Everyone so like the title says I have a few weird issues with my 2080ti XC ultra. One would be that when I go to update my Nvidia driver it starts to update then the screen goes black and does not come back up. Have to do a hard reset to get it to work again. The other issue is I work on 3D renders in Daz Studio and use Nvidia Iray I use my 2080ti XC Ultra with my older FTW3 1080ti Hybrid which I never had problems with. During a render, both cards will crash the render and default back to CPU only rendering. Now here is where it gets interesting If I go into Precision X1 and I turn down max power on both cards to 60% or less It will render fine. Now naturally at first, I thought power issue but  I've upgraded to a Corsair HX1200i system never gets anywhere near max power draw. At most seen around 500 watts on load, this is with 2 GPU's running. Don't know whats happing

My System:
Cpu: AMD Ryzen x5950
MB: MSI X570 ACE
RAM:64gb of Gskill Trident Z Neo
GPU's: EVGA 2080ti XC Ultra with Hybrid Kit
EVGA 1080ti FTW3 Hybrid

    Hello,

It may not be a wattage issue. This may be a voltage issues. I would suggest taking a look at the 12V rail in the BIOS
to ensure the 12V is within the acceptable range and stable.
You can see how to do that here: https://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=59025

Sounds like the factory oc is unstable.

The 12v Rail is coming in at 12.20v and fluctuates between 12.20 to 12.10v according to the psu's Corsair link software. It's a brand new PSU. Although my last one was also Corsair. I have not overclocked eather card beyond the factory OC's on them. Don't know if it has anything to do with the XC Ultra being a Reference PCB? I should add too that while my 1080ti stay's at it clock speed my 2080ti is all over the place so is the voltage it will go from 1770Mhz to 1900Mhz voltage will go from 800mv to 1000mv with the clock and voltage changing every second.

Done some more diagnostics Found card is running well on older games but anything that uses Cuda cores or RTX will crash hard fast. Should have not bought this card or anything with a reference PCB. Should have waited for FTW3 hybrid to be back in stock on the site or better yet waited for Kingpin

Just because you get a FTW3, doesnt mean you'll necessarily get a good card that'll work properly.

True it's all silicon lottery. I'm thinking I got some bad memory in the card. Running anything Cuda or RTX related will crash the card within a few minutes. I would assume at least the power delivery and quality of components in the FTW3 would be much better. As one thing I noticed is power and clock speeds also seemed to flux a lot and I had no overclock on it other than the one set by the factory
