I'm having the strangest issue with this hub. The description and many reviews I've read say this should have no issues with up to 8 fans. I'm using less than 8
I have the hubs 4pin plugged into the motherboards CPU 4 pin header. I then have an EK 360mm Phoenix kit plugged into the first "glossy" port and 3 EK RGB Vardar fans plugged into the remaining three ports on the hub.

My issue is when I plug in the 3 Vardar fan. The fans on the EK Phoenix kit as well as its pump completely shutdown. As soon as I unplug the last RGB Vardar everything goes back to normal. No matter what hub port I use, the Phoenix kit shutsdown. I can do the Phoenix kit and 2 fans no problem. It's just that third fan that kills the pump and fans. This is the second hub as I thought the first may have just been defective.

Any thoughts?

If it isn't defective, it sounds like it has a design flaw. You should be able to attach a nearly infinite number of PWM fans to a PWM wire since it is a high impedance control signal. If some company can't get that simple operation working, it's garbage.

ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium
My EVGA Score: 1546 • Zero Associates Points • I don't shill

Can you recommend a replacement? I need to power and control these fans off one PWM header on the mobo. Not looking for anything too fancy.

Just as an update I wasn't able to solve this issue. I tried the Swifttech hub and it won't power the fans at all. Possibly DOA. I reached out to EK and they are stumped as well.
