Hi I have been out of the loop ever since I got my two ftw3 gpu's. I know that Ek and Evga has said that they were bringing out blocks for this card. However I haven't heard a thing about either of them lately. I know Ek was suppose to release their's the beginning of this month and since it's mid month now What happened. Or did I miss something in my absents. Can anybody give me some insight. And no I won't go hybrid I don't have the room and I don't like the look of it. Any insight would be great thanks

I have been watching for updates and honestly haven't seen anything recently, so I am not sure what happened with the EK blocks to cause a delay. Evga hasn't said much either

EKWB also said that they weren’t planning on making a block for the Kingpin either, in the email they sent me.

EVGA might release a Hydrocopper block for the K|NGP|N. Just speculation.. I'm pretty sure they will release a Hydrocopper for the FTW3 soon.

EKWB delayed the FTW3 waterblock for july (says so on their site if you choose FTW3 in the configurator). Before then it said june and that was already delayed. It will come eventually.

I don't know what the delays are but I did talk to Evga on live chat and all they told me was "their is no date yet" for the hydrocopper. And EK is frustrating the heck out of me. I Planned my build around their release dates. and now I have a computer that I can't use due to I don't have any blocks for my gpus. I just have a very expensive paper weight at the moment.

Hopefully soon, EVGA has listed two new Hydrocopper cards. The 1080 Ti SC Hydrocopper, and SC2 Hydrocopper. Here is the SC2 version. https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-6599-KROddly, the ala carte waterblocks are not listed on the sites waterblock page. Hey bambino974 , does the EVGA backplate not fit with other blocks?

EVGA's blocks are made by EKWB and are slightly modified versions (EVGA's nice cover) of the normal EKWB's block. Therefore there couldn't be a block from EVGA unless there's one from EKWB ready.

Hey, I just got my FTW3 in yesterday and my ek block will be here hopefully no later than monday. I am wondering if anyone here has already installed the block and the factory backplate? If so does the leds on the backplate still function with the block?

Yes it works. The EVGA LED on the back plate from the factory still lights up with the EK waterblock installed. Just make sure you set the color while the fans are still installed because once you take the fans off and install the EK waterblock you will not be able to change the color of the LEDs I just got mine yesterday and installed it and got an overclocked of 2037 megahertz stable

EKWB has done some weird stuff with the Ti block releases. They release the FTW3 edition block with no EKWB backplates in stock and can't even order them. Just odd, yes you can run the factory back plate but I am not a fan of the looks of it compared to a nice smooth EKWB back plate. I got two blocks coming from PPCS supposedly shipping out tomorrow so hopefully before the week is up I will have both of mine on water.

This is true. I've tried asking and never got an answer on who the mysterious WB manufacturers were. One of the reasons why I have't pulled the trigger on a Hydro Copper as of yet. AFAIK, I don't believe it's Swiftech or EK who both used to be their Hydro Copper mfgers, mainly Swift. What I do know is from reading this and a few other reviews, the performance on these blocks is mediocre and some even compare it to old designed GPU blocks, not to mention the crazy costs that they usually sell for.

I can change the color of the LEDs with Precision XOC on the fly. I did, add on the thermal LEDs with EVGA|GEFORCE GTX 1080 Ti logo bar. It had two sets of connectors. If what you say is true about the backplate LEDs, then maybe adding the thermal LEDs will allow it to link together. See my pic 2 posts up, now that's a real FTW3 with waterblock. I mean, is a FTW3 without thermal indicators really a FTW3?
