You can use nvflash to update the vbios if you have the .rom file.

Note: Put spaces in your links to make them show up on the forum.

this or anything about this  as with any bios flash is not guaranteed  all your own risk

evga gtx 970 bios / rom list + down load you could use  if needed ???

 https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=NVIDIA&manufacturer=EVGA&model=GTX+970&interface=&memType=&memSize=&since=

I'd think if evga offered you a correct bios for your evga card I'd more want to use it  to keep things in house as safe as possible  , but still nothing is guaranteed and still your own risk

sajin  gives good trustworthy  help in these bios dept.  things ...

good luck

what issues are you having? Generally bios flashes for graphics cards dont fix anything like they do for motherboards.

then how many times you find can do more harm then good  and regret doing it

was it not the cooler and that cant SLI thing with certain other 970's  the only issue with the 970 sc  before EVGA changed it out from a heat pipe to a cold plate cooler  ?? [heat pips did not correctly cover the gpu chip ? ]

as here on page 4

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_970_SC_ACX_Cooler/4.html

depends on your cards model #  if old style or got the new  ??  seems there were 2 or 3 releases of the 970 SC   model # changed with each  revision to that SC  line of 970 card

Sajin's suggestion of nvflash definitely the way to go. While I tend to install every BIOS update available for motherboards (whether I know of an existing problem I am having or not), I do not follow that process for the GPUs. However, since EVGA recommended it (and sent you the file), you should probably trust their expertise and start with that!
