False. I received my 3090 FTW3 Ultra today and can confirm it has 2 MLCC. Not on the Strix level, but I'll stay loyal to EVGA.

I'm loyal to the product with better components. 2 MLCC is fine though. 

it matters with every other type of electronics. ellectronic noise= bad

 For what I understand MLCC-capacitors would be able to filter different frequencies (like 10nF, 30nF, 100nF, 330nF etc) where POSCAP-capacitors has only one filtering frequency? Obviously they have other pros and cons aswell, but as explained by Jay, this could be the case.

Nexus that was a retail pre release photo, check back on this thread, i posted an unboxing of the card. it has 6 mlcc's

Yeah 4mins into the der8auer video you can clearly see the MLCC's. That video was what convinced me to go Strix this round, very nice part selection and board layout.

Can anyone give a brief ELI5 on the issue? I watched the Jayz video while multitasking and didn't really get the full implication

Some cards are crashing. Igor's Lab thinks it's related to the capacitors on the back of the GPU. This blew up into a mess of baseless speculation and people claiming expensive tantalum capacitors are somehow "cheap" and "low quality", which couldn't be further from the truth.

TL;DR: Explosions of nonsense on the internet. Enjoy your GPU and wait for confirmation.

I'm thinking this is closer to the truth. there's always some conspiracy.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if it was solved with a driver update...

This is true. At 1:44:10 on "EVGA's Ready for Takeoff!" video they show the backplate for a split second. It's dark and grainy, but you can see two MLCC arrays down the middle just like the Founders card. The Asus is overkill as usual with six, but also as usual they are holding back the power limit despite the overkill compnents. 400W vs 440W may not make a big difference, but it will be annoying if they release a higher wattage BIOS with a "super-premium" card or "White Editon" card that costs even more. They did that with the 2080Ti. I was able to flash my Strix to 360W up from 325W which really helped clock stability, but that was an earlier card and later ones were more locked down. I would rather not have to do that and buy a card with a proper BIOS already.

Not entirely true. There are cards with 0x MLCC and cards with 2x MLCC confirmed out in the wild. The question is, are both iterations fine or is it just that a few early production cards shipped out before the revised ones? We'll need a statement from EVGA on this.

It's been said by EVGA that none are in the wild. The only ones that don't use the 2 + 4 setup are preproduction models sent to reviewers. They clarified this, told reviewers, and have said they are trying to get reviewers the production model.
 
This is also supposedly why the FTW3 was delayed. Apparently the rest are up to spec, I guess. Or at least so they say.

Its all photoshopped. Once you open the cheap cooler than you see the real thing. Jk of course evga will have right product. They never fail!

seconding this btw, everything i've seen for the companies that have actual versions done "right" is that those you see of the same model done with the 6x SPcaps are from early samples sent to reviewers prior to global release.
