In one hand, it gives out cheap and china-made vibe. Whenever i had contact with any sort of transparent plastic it was weak and fragile. But at the same time, my GPU is already upside down and i dont really look into it "face to face" and if the transparent shroud means RGB lighting, then yeah go for it! Sucks for people with vertical mount tho.

maybe it'll be made of plexiglass, bullet-proof grade? or a least durable enough to meet or exceed current shroud durability.
wonder if the 2080 ti will have 2 or 3 fans though for the basic (lowest priced non-reference) version.

I think they are possibly going clear in an effort to rgbify the shroud even more. Like waterblocks do. Strategic placement of a few LEDs should make the whole shroud glow.

Yeah think this is going to be ultimate RGB GPU. I agree with y'alls opinions about this shroud, this generation, but the only justification to me has to be the RGB market. Hopefully we can see the other side soon, as mentioned, all we really see is the side and back.

I think the whole GPU design should change. Currently most of the visual design of GPU's is completely irrelevant due to it facing down. With AOI CPU coolers being so common these days these days maybe it's time to flip it.

Ha ha ha  I busted up laughing on that one. It is interesting EVGA is using the 3 slot 2 fan design, were other manufacture are using a 2 slot 3 fan design that hangs about 2"-3" past the power plugs on the RTX 2080. Wonder if EVGA will take this approach on the RTX 2080 Ti also?

Although looking at the MSI RTX 2080 Ti, they are going 2 1/2 (maybe 3) slots 3 fans, but not 2"-3" hanging off the end of the card.

I hope they have a better deployment of RGB. The 1080 Ti's failed on the rgb side. EVGA's 1080s were awesome.

Man are those heatsinks massive! If these images are legit, it must be one hot running silicon and or has high OCs in store for everyone but regardless, those with custom cooling shouldn't have to worry much. I just pray the supposed 2080 Ti is in the $600-$700 range but lots of rumors are having it higher than that.

Looks like the coolers they are putting on these cards are going to take care of the GPU heat, so don't expect your 1080 Ti hold value because of that. Main card to watch for is the RTX 2070. It's rumored to be faster then the 1080 Ti, so watch for the price on that card.

Where did you find the specs on the PNY RTX 2080? Ah, found it. Don't think it's correct. Is the 2080 CUDA core count 2944? Also the memory clocks says TBD.

Wow I totally missed the triple layer heatsinks on each one. They have got to have some serious leakage on this node yet. As for temps vs 480. You can throw a massive heatsink on and dissapate the heat better to keep temps on the chip lower but x watts dissapated is still x watts dissapated. Chip might run cooler but it's still gonna heat up the room.

Please excuse the mess as it was during my beginning days to custom liquid cooling.
Good old GTX 480, like I said, glad I water cool. Had a pair of EVGA Hydro Copper GTX 480's. Oddly the only video card I have had fail on me was one of these.

Good old GTX 480, like I said, glad I water cool. Had a pair of EVGA Hydro Copper GTX 480's. Oddly the only video card I have had fail on me was one of these.
I had an unfortunate blowout back when I was putting the X99 system together which took out the X99 Classified MB, one of the EVGA GTX 480s and a Corsair Link. The link was smoking so bad that I was about to drop it in a bucket of water. Worried of a fire in the early a.m. hours of the night while everyone was asleep. Several wires in the rig had melted and still felt pretty warm after the fact. Several months later into the next year I was up and running. I believe the culprit was the PSU as it didn't have some of it's protections enabled till Window's loaded up with the Link software while the PSU company quietly had upgraded their PSU firmware not long after release with the same brand PSUs that enabled the protections in place once it's was powered instantly preBIOS. Regardless, everything was RMA'd and up and running 3-4+ months later iirc.
