As the title states, when I watch videos (MKV, AVI etc...) I see tearing. Is this something I should be worried about?
I have the latest drivers installed so that's not it. Is there anything else I can check? Also this happens with different media players.

Thanks in advance!!

Is this on Windows?  What version? Screen tearing is generally not a hardware issue with the GPU. What monitor are you using? What refresh rate and resolution? There's lots of information missing.

Enable v-sync globally inside the nvidia control panel.

I’ll give that a try if it isn’t enabled already. I’ll check as soon as I get back to my desk.

    Thanks!!

Terrific, any specif plugins? How are you connected to the display?  Could you please provide more detailed info, specifics on what specific player, what settings, how you are connected, it all matters. Have you changed any default settings in the Nvidia control panel...etc etc...

Enabling v-sync seems to have helped but I’ll have to watch a few more videos to verify.

    Thanks!!

No plugins, connected to monitor via display port. Tearing happens using all the media players I mentioned but I primarily use PotPlayer. And no I hadn’t made any settings changes in the Nvidia control panel.

Edit: All media players settings are default.

So having a similar issue, just came here to post about lol.

Except I know the cause of mine, yours may be similar though.

The new NV drivers, are now Forcing Gsync for Google Chrome, which causes tearing....... Why, they did this, I got no idea, they likely did some other forcing junk to cause your issue.

Is there a way to disable G-Sync in Chrome? Also does it matter either way if I don't have a G-Sync monitor? Even if G-Sync is enabled would it affect me since I don't have a G-Sync monitor?

Any other settings that might improve video quality? I'm not saying my quality is bad just wondering if it might be better.
