What are you looking for Rick, a 1080? If you don't find it here at EVGA, try either Amazon or Newegg. But be careful of the third party sellers on Amazon [newegg as well], for step-up purposes.
    Welcome to the forums!

Wow, that was stupid looking at both places I suggested..... I can understand your frustration.
    There is a FTW+ showing in stock @ the egg. $299. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814487268

Or you could do the auto notify. Not sure how long that would take. Some I have done have been a couple days. Hope you find what you want. I actually have the 1060 FTW 6Gb, that I won in the gaming contest's they have here. It's a nice card, I run in folding and it's pretty quiet.

this is due to the mining craze as of late.

The miners are snatching all rx470, rx480, rx570, rx580, gtx 1060, and now they are stepping into gtx 1070s as well.

This created a shortage with continuous high demand for these cards. And thus, prices are ridiculous for the few available.

best bet right now is used cards, gtx 980 for sub $200, gtx 980 ti for sub $300, and gtx 1080 for $400~$500 range.

I am mining as well.. But I could never buy out complete stock.. I took some retirement money I had.. withdrew it and was going to build a rig... I was only going to run one rig with 9 cards... I obviously cant afford 9 1080ti's so I was going to try and get the 1060 6gb single fan... and use the rig to start making money that will be directly deposited in my 2 boys(5 and 2) saving account and let the machine make their college fund! Figured it would make sense... But I get all the way to the end.. have everything but the cards.. and I cant find 9 cards in the whole world! Its a real disappointment to say the least... good news is ..... kids wont be attending college for quite some time... but it still is a real bummer to get so far and then get hosed by people buying 100s of these cards for a warehouse build!

My price point is 265 per unit... I need 9 of them. I was wondering if EVGA is going to release the mining gpu that has been talked about.. I just saw a picture of it.. it looks like the single fan 6gb 1060 version. It would only have a 3 month warranty and is priced lower for that reason! Is there a release date for these mining gpus that do no=t have display ports!

I don't think that there is anyone who is purposely buying the complete stock.  The point is that you want to buy 9 and there are many more like you.  Don't try to paint someone else as a villain or as a scalper when you are one in that same group who is also trying to make money off of the product in your own way.

Oh boy, I just noticed pretty much all the cards are sold out. There's nothing on the market except for scalped cards and some 1080's and 1080 ti's

What's with people selling 1060's for 1080 prices? Obviously I'd take a 1080 over a used 1060 at first glance. Are they that efficient for mining, or are scalpers so inefficient in their business or intent on ripping people off, that that's just what the price comes out to?

Hopefully they restock soon, or I'll have to settle for a 1050 ti, or hold off on my next build. Screw this

From what I've read, there are efficiency problems with the algorithm used for Etherium and GDDR5X that aren't present with GDDR5, making the 1070 a better mining card than a 1080, and close to the performance of a 1080 Ti.

I didn't consider the founders editions from the Nvidia store. I just looked at Newegg and the EVGA store and they're picked clean. I don't really care for blowers, or the fact that they're a bit pricier than reference, but if I have to it might be worthwhile. It doesn't look like I'll be getting an EVGA FTW any time soon though.

As I said, I might have to hold off some more, or get a 1050 ti with the intent of upgrading later. From what I can gather about crypto currency and fads, the craze will either pass or GPUs will become inefficient for the new currencies and ASICs will succeed them.

Ethereum is very memory-intensive, the increased latency on GDDR 5x vs GDDR 5 puts a serious hurt on performance for the GTX 1080 and 1080ti compared to the GTX 1070 and 1060 with GDDR 5.
The 1080ti has enough cores to overcome this, but not by a lot - benchmarks I've seen put it into the mid-to-upper 30s on Mhash, where the 1070 is a solid 30 Mhash give-or-take about 2, the 1080 struggles to top 25, and the 1060 is low-20s to mid-20s depending on the specific model.

The interesting part is that the old R9 290 and R9 390 are still 2 of the best mining cards around on ETH despite their age, due to the 512 bit memory bus and fairly low latency of their memory making up for their relatively low memory clock rates - abet at a LOT more power usage than the GTX 1070 or the high-end RX series cards.

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

GTX 1070 card availability has improved a LITTLE over the last couple weeks, but I suspect it's more that the "mining-specific RX 470" cards have been available in enough quantity to reduce the pressure, coupled with the recent "correction/profit taking" price drop reducing the pressure to add new rigs a LOT more.

The price recovery on most altcoins this week seems to be fueling a small resurgence in new rig building though - ETH total network hashrate was pretty much flat for about a week but it's slowly climbing again.

I wouldn't bet on the "GPU shortage" going away entirely for a while, but I suspect it WILL ease a little on everything but the RX 470/570/580 over the next month or two - unless pricing on ETH or ZEC starts climbing HARD again.

It's just a 1060 without video output. Don't see why it wouldn't be just like any other 1060s for mining.

Yeah, id say if you need to rent a plane, especially a 747, to move your g-cards and then you rent a warehouse to run said cards, you have a problem!!! Obviously, cryptomining addiction is real, which is kinda sad.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. - Galatians 5:22,23

The Bitcoin mine beecee mentioned is Bitmain's - part of that operation will be Hashnest, part of it their internal mining efforts.

Not sure it actually is THE largest, but it's definitely top 3 or so if it's NOT (BitFury might argue the point with their big Georgia mine).

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.
