Been running a custom loop since 2014, have had Full Cover EK Blocks on 680's...780Ti's..and 1080Ti's. The 780Ti's and 1080Ti's were both SLi set-ups that I used with an EK Terminal Block (they provided a ton of support for dual heavy cards / blocks)
Now down to a single Card...anything more than a single 3080 simply not justifiable for my Dell Alienware 120 Hz Ultra Wide 3440*1440p monitor.
Was a simple swap out of GPU's, all the rest of my HW left and of course recycled all of my WC'ing gear.
All the specs are in my Sig...the pump is a Laing D5 Vario set to 3200 RPM (set n forget).
All fans are low RPM high static pressure plugged into a 4 channel 200W Fan Controller (50W per channel). Also all Rad fans set up as intakes with 3 fans at the front of the 900D (no rad) also intakes, a single 140mm exhaust fan top rear, so positive pressure all the way (all rads have filters).

GPU Core will always run at ambient room temp and maxes out at 45c - 46c during heavy gaming sessions playing latest AAA titles.

Block install was painless, although 3 different size thermal pads for Nickel Backplate was a bit of a surprise, but as always the EK instructions are straight forward. System has been running solid for 2 months. The only issue I found is unable to draw more than 398W with the XOC 450W BIOS, too bad as I think this Card has a lot of OC'ing headroom.
All screws on both the Water Block and Backplate tweaked (no fear). Obviously dont forget any of the little tiny plastic washers.
GPU grease was Thermal Grizzly "X"....

CPU I play around with 5 Ghz - 5.1 Ghz (All Cores) 1.295v - 1.35v for gaming or benching I will go to 5.2 Ghz - 5.3Ghz 1.405v - 1.5v.
GPU +160 / +1200 is the max I've gone, but no great benefit due to Power Limit at 398W....a drag for sure ...stil can get to Max steady boost of 2115 - 2130 Mhz and no significant increase in Temps. So I've settled on +120 / +650 for daily gaming.

Still figuring out the lighting...tubing is some old XSPC UV 3/8" ID 5/8" OD I had laying around, not very good as very very stiff, but soaking in hot water prior to slipping over barb ends of Bits Power Compression Fittings made it easy.
System holds just shy of 2 Liters liquid to fill (3 Rads so does take a fair bit), I'm very aggressive leaning the 900D tower on its side in both directions while leak testing, so able to bleed out all the air fairly quickly.

I'm on the verge of pulling the pin on an Asus Maximus Apex / 10900k w 4233 RAM, just to see if I can get that 10/20 core / thread CPU to 5.3 Ghz.....we'll see...yeah the AMD 5900 / 5950 chips are great, but in all honesty I really enjoy OC'ing new gear, I'd get bored of that AMD chip pretty quick :)

Still playing around with the lighting.....took me awhile to figure out to control the lighting on the Vector and Velocity Blocks thru Asus Aura.

I'll try to post up some pics on this thread of all OC'ing benchmark results in the next few weeks.
Pics arent that great...older iPhone ;)

Cheers

Nice, similar build to mine. I was thinking about the optimus block but I have 2x 3090 to cool, maybe even 3-4, so that expense combined with the fact it takes weeks to arrive is prohibitive. I was thinking of getting 2x barrow ones in the mean time as they are extremely cheap but perform decently, but heard many people having headaches with them. No FTW3 heat killer yet, so other than the optimus the EK option seems like the best, especially with the terminal accessories or ek-pro manifold for multiple GPU. Problem is there is no active backplate for the EK block yet which I would like. It's a shame heatkiller has not given the ftw3 any love yet. I've been considering the bykski one which now has an active backplate option.

Yeah I did notice the EK Backplate does get toasty (more so than 780Ti or 1080Ti) when touching it during heavy gaming load....but all thermals seem perfectly fine....if using SLi 3090's I'd probably replace all my Rads and go for these Heatkiller Rads....I think I may swap out all of my XSPC Rads to these regardless, they're very low FPI (perfect for low RPM high static pressure fans) and built solid (proper heat exchangers, round tubing and parallel orientation within fins), I like the stainless steel look to them as well, solid:

Another reason I wanted the optimus or an active backplate is because I'm doing memory intensive computation, so I wanted to keep the back as cool as possible. One reason why I wanted EK as well is that I dislike the look of LED/full acrylic blocks, and EK seems to be the only company offering a black acetal one with full nickel/copper options, with no news yet on the heatkiller.

    Thanks for stopping by....
I've been back to playing around with the OC'd 9900k ...looks more like Adaptive 1.37v LLC 6 Uncore (Cache Frequency 4.8 Ghz)...all required for any Stability testing at All Core 5.1 Ghz. When hitting the Cores at 100% load with AVX instructions I do have a few cores hitting 87c!!!
CPU intense gaming has CPU sitting at around 54c - 60c ...
GPU Core never sees more that 46c Boost to 2085 Mhz - 2100 Mhz

Nice build.  I know they are expensive, but Noctua has black fans now.  The color scheme has kept me away for a long time.

Thanks guys......anyone can dump the most $$$$ on the absolute best top of the line Hardware ....and I can guarantee will be a great build (how can it not).....the trick is taking the lesser HW and getting it to the "ballpark" performance wise of the HW that will cost you twice as much ;)...thats the true challenge !!

Should note that most of the Water Cooling gear (other than Blocks and tubing) is all original purchase 2015....radiators and bits power fittings are from that year....the XSPC Rez also original and i replaced the Liang D5 Vario pump a few yrs ago.

^^^ Agreed....looks isnt as important to me at all vs performance...another reason why I have stuck to this Corsair 900D case for so long (6 yrs), its too easy setting up a custom multi radiator loop as there is so much room.
With that being said I have far too many fans to start swapping them all out for RGB Fans....the Noctuas are perfect low RPM / High Static Pressure fans for the Rads!!!
    Thanks for your comments!!!

atc not bad. have you considered doing a fresh build from the ground up?

    Very laser-tagesque

Was trying to figure out why it was so familiar. LazerTag indeed.

    Very cool build op!

From the ground up would only change out my Case and Fans.....perhaps flex tubing n fittings for PETG Hard lines...but in all honesty "performancewise" (other than case n fans) would be a complete update from Z390.
I was considering moving to z490 10900k and an Apex Board, but really the perfomance Im getting from this set-up is pretty damn good.
The AMD offerings as in 5900x certainly is impressive, benching would see some decent improvements for sure, particularly jumping to 5950x, but my days of upgrading n having the "best" HW are done, provided my System is "up there" in performance (gming being key), then I'll settle on skipping a few generations!!!

We'll see what Intel has up there sleeve with Alder Lake ;)

Couple of Benchmark scores.....the cooling is quite impressive...
Max temps I've seen with 3080 FTW 3 Ultra is around 44c - 46c.....benches...gaming RDR2...C77....stress testing (looping PR) etc....
