Valve’s effort to make Counter-Strike: Global Offensive free-to-play gave the game a much-needed boost after months of decline, helping to attain the biggest number ever recorded in the series. Not-so-coincidentally, the number of Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) bans has seen a noticeable surge, with over 600,000 accounts hit with the developer’s hammer throughout December, 2018. I guess I can't understand why so many players want to cheat and risk getting caught.

    PR spin on how they're having to deal with the average player quality on a free-to-play game. It's not a good thing.

    CS needs to die. Everything about it is antiquated and it's just sad remember.

    Actually, I'm quite happy it exists. Keep those sort of players in their own cage cheating against each other in this game.

    Don't care about CS one way or the other.
     
    It could die, It could live. Either way it doesn't really bother me.
     
    Cheaters need to stop cheating tho...I'm tired of having what I consider malware from game manufacturers (wardens to find cheaters) on my machine.

    Valve really should insta ban cheaters, rather than giving them a few days before hitting them with a Vac wave. They are worried about quantities of cheaters rather than making the work super annoying for the cheat creators.

    I have stopped playing CSGO because valve made it free to play and stopped caring about the paying customer.

    ...and still the amount is probably a drop in the bucket of all the hackers.
