https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/valve-introduces-steam-remote-play-for-gaming-away-from-your-main-pc/ Back in March, the Steam Link Anywhere feature went into open beta, allowing users to stream their Steam games to a smartphone from outside of your home network. Now, that same functionality is also coming to Steam In-Home streaming, which is being renamed to Steam Remote Play. Steam Link hardware has been retired but the idea is still alive and well with Valve tackling it via software instead. Steam Remote Play will let you leave your gaming PC switched on at home and then run games on it remotely as long as the network you are on is up to the task. As was the case before, there are options to cap resolution and frame rate depending on how much bandwidth you have available to you.

T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way. Affiliate Code: 3T15O1S07G

Did you even bother reading anything?? "as long as the network you are on is up to the task" - Meaning if you have good internet to support the up/down required. "So now, you can stream your Steam games to a laptop away from home, or stream them to your Android or iOS phone or tablet" - Meaning you can remotely play games from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

this makes it possible for you to play remotely as long as your pc is turned on and connected to the internet. by remotely means either inside or outside your home.

+1.... I guess everyone forgets that almost all the exploits that have come out in the last year have all been predicated on remote access/rdp. Remote anything is too vulnerable to have open and useable in its current state. Its needs a proper rework at the very least.

I would rather play at home since it’s just the best experience possible. The idea of streaming games is only ok if the games are made to be easy. I would love to see someone try to play a game like Dark Souls streamed since the slightest bit of lag and they die.

Hehe, even without lag the minimum thing is a death sentence.

I think streamed games could really be something fun but local games can be just more about timing while feeling fair while remote play is about giving players a fun story. No way would it handle multiplayer well since it would have to contact the computer with that lag then send the command to the server with that lag.

They've just abstracted the mechanics of SteamLink away from their thin client hardware product failure. It's not like this hasn't failed previously. Do they expect people to have that short of a memory span after the $5 fire sale they had on SteamLink boxes?

Well as Nvidia Shield tablet Owner, this is not really new. Which honestly i have enjoyed on multiple occasions. The tablet has 4k output, portable and can use real controllers A lot easier then taking my rig everywhere. Nice to have an easy way to setup and open it up to more devices. I would rather stream from my computer then pay google, or any other gaming service for rights to use a game as long as their service is still in business. Especially for games i already own I love being able to game when i am stuck at places i dont want to be Like inlaws on holidays. Now you can stream xbox to windows 10 computers, Steam to xbox's. Use a laptop to stream games from your main gaming rig
