I've noticed in the current and past versions of Precision X1 VF Curve Tuner causes the computer to hard freeze after about a 5 minutes scan duration. Repeated attempts always result in a hard freeze needing to reboot, and unfortunately I've tried clean reinstalling X1 with no luck and clean reinstall's of windows 10 pro. I'm not sure if the issue is card specific or a software bug/cpu bug causing it to hard freeze, but I've come across others having similar issues with this as well as OC scanner on MSI afterburner so it may be purely the stressors causing the issue.

Hoping this can be addressed in future updates to Precision X1.

My GPU is a 1080ti FTW3 Hybrid.

Overclock Unstable on the Motherboard Maybe.
Old or Outdated Power Supply Maybe.

Should be a stable overclock on my cpu it’s a modest 4GHZ and passes OCCT benchmark. It’s not out of the question that it could be OC related but personally I think in my situation it’s unlikely.

My PSU is a modular bronze 1000w coolermaster silent pro, but I’m only using the one gpu so I shouldn’t be straining it for power.

The gpu stressor should be only stressing the gpu during a VF curve scan so the cpu shouldn’t even be stressed for it to draw to much power from the psu or really cause a issue with cpu.

I know in the earlier versions of OC scanner on Precision OCX the scan window would sometimes freeze but never the whole computer. X1 doesn’t have a scan radar window so I’m not sure how it interacts as a process or with D3d or OpenGL. All I know is it’s not just a crash of the gpu itself because even my wired ps2 keyboards num lock light becomes frozen. Usually upon freezing the heat from the gpu exhausted out the back of the computer drops in temperature as well.

1080ti FTW3 Hybrid + Bronze = Not the Best Combo or Very High End Graphics Card with the Lowest End of a Power Supply.
Are you using Two Separate PCIe Power Cables to your Graphics Card from the Power Supply?
But you can test by setting your CPU and Memory back to Auto in the Motherboard and then re-scan.
A Frozen Keyboard most of the time is caused by the Motherboard.

I’m using two separate pcie cables to my gpu from my psu. You can read about my psu here if your curious. https://www.anandtech.com...silent-pro-m1000-1000w

I set everything back to default values in my bios with no OC and ran the scan again unfortunately it still freezes the computer.

When it froze I was 39% cpu usage and 5% gpu usage although the gpu usage spikes as it tests. Was pulling 75w from the cpu and the gpu was at 114% target of 128 with 950mv on voltage. I don’t have exact numbers on how much the gpu was pulling as hw monitor was frozen and I couldn’t scroll down.

Have you install a Clean Driver but uninstalling the Current then running DDU in Safe Mode and clean the Drivers.
Then install only the Graphics Driver and PhysX Drivers.

Yes I’ve done that when I updated my graphic drivers to the latest version. And clean installed precision x1 when I installed version 3.15 making sure both the old led sync server was removed and folders cleared.

Myself I do not use PX1 on my GTX Cards.
Maybe go back to PXOC Version 6.2.7 Release: 5/8/2018

Only issue I found on XOC in that version is that OC scanner does occasionally crash, but it doesn’t take my computer with it. Besides the VF curve scan X1 is for the most part working as expected without lacking much in difference from XOC that I can tell besides kboost. Manually setting my gpu OC’s work as expected using X1 so I don’t have much reason to jump back to XOC as it’s not hindering me so long as I don’t use VF scan. Would just be nice if it worked as expected, hoping it gets at least noticed and other people that are having the same issue can chime in so it can be fixed.

I never have used the Scan in PXOC but have for the fun of it in PX1
