Hi all, I recently upgraded from evga 2080 ti xc ultra to 3080 ti ftw3 ultra and everything seems to perform awesome, but on every game I've played so far the audio cuts out for about 2 to 3 seconds about every minute or so.....driving me nuts. Graphics drivers are up to date and I have my windows 10 on automatic updates, so does anyone have any ideas?.....I'm playing on an LG CX Oled if that help any........never had issue with the 2080 ti....Thanks in advance for any help.

Check to make sure windows has not ran a recent update. If it has...roll back updates. Recently updates has caused me audio issues and rolling back updates fixed my problems....

This is the problem. before upgrading the drivers you should unplug the ethernet cable so the automatic update does not kick in. I would suggest, to download the most recent drivers, once you download them, unplug the ethernet cable and uninstall, the Physx drivers first, then the HD audio drivers, restart and uninstall the display drivers, go to safe mode and use DDU to remove the drivers from registry in safe mode. Please be sure to uninstall both Nvidia and AMD gpu drivers (i know you dont own an AMD GPU, but the W10 system usually updates drivers for all available hardware out there) and this doesnt hurt to remove them any ways. GL and post results

Holy **** that's alot of stuff to do just for a gpu upgrade.......also, I seem to be having trouble getting a good automatic custom fan curve working on this thing....so when gaming at 4k the bastard gets hot af no matter what I do or wether I use msi AB or prec.x1.....I'm honestly at the point to where I'm half tempted to say F this thing and return it and put my damn 2080 ti back in.....very frustrated.

In prec.x1 I can set manual fan speeds, but why dont the automatic fan curve work at all?......msi AB only powers 2 of the 3 fans......that's just crap imo.

could also have been any updates to drivers that the cruddy Nvidia HD audio drivers got installed with the card .?
Those can cause conflicts .

I cant remember for sure, but it's about 6ft long 4k high speed with gold tips and that sucker was almost 100 bucks at best buy......yesterday I noticed in several games if I put in fullscreen, no audio at all....if I put in borderless window it produces sound.......whatever is causing that is just plain stupid, cause I've never encountered that on any upgrade before.

I just got my 3080ti FTW3 Ultra as well and notice the same issue. Every few minutes the audio cuts for a split second. It only seems to do this with games; movies, and high res music is fine it seems. I never had this issue with my EVGA 2080 Super XC or our MSI 1080 Ti Gaming X. Hardware: HDMI 2.1 cable (connected into ARC/2.1 port on the TV from 3080ti) 2021 LG Nano90 (set to 120Hz in nvidia control panel) Dennon PMA800-NE 2.0 receiver EVGA 3080 ti FTW3 Ultra Troubleshooting: Card is set to OC settings in Bios switch, but it happens regardless 1. Made sure Gigabyte Aorus X570i Pro Wifi is up to date on Bios F35a (current as of 9/21/21) 2. Used DDU to remove all traces of previous drivers and software in safe mode with command prompt (no networking) then restarted 3. Before it booted back up unplugged ethernet to kill network and any chance of MS trying to install drivers on its own. 4. installed latest drivers from Nvidia (472.12) with GeForce Experience. Restarted 5. Uninstalled and reinstalled Precision X (issue appears to happen regardless of Precision X installed or if the card is overclocked or not) Restarted 6. Replaced HDMI cable with another 2.1 and optical cable as well. (neither of these cables have issues with anything else) 7. Made sure TV was set to Passthrough and set to PCM. Results: Same issue in almost every game. This morning I have changed output from the TV to Bitstream to see if anything changes and will report back in this post. If that doesn't fix it I am out of ideas. I have also tried the solutions, sans the enlarging icons part in the video posted above. Has anyone found a true solution to this or is my card defective?

I know I’ve had issues after installing new Nvidia drivers in which my selected audio output changes from my onboard audio to either my GPU or my monitor. That happens frequently. I’ve also had plenty of times in recent months that something prompts a game or even a benchmark to minimize spontaneously. It’s not always successful in executing the minimize function, so the video will still be fullscreen but the audio cuts out. As soon as I click anywhere in the game it comes back. Wondering if it’s something similar for everyone posting here.
