So I think intel only guarantees/or maybe just does out of habit, to support 2 gens to CPUs(socket wise before they make you upgrade your motherboard for latest and greatest)? I would be coming from a Z170/6700k why the Z270 was a waste to me. With coffee lake, is that considered a new socket and I would have at least one more gen or will Z390 be broken by intel for backwards compatibility and coffee lake people would have to upgrade(assuming z390 is worthwhile upgrade)? Or maybe no one knows, but figured to ask what other people planning.
