I am going to have at Folding at Home contest for my team coming up soon.  I am waiting to see the brand and specs on the 2080TI I will be giving away along with an EVGA 1000 Watt Power supply.  I am working on details of contest also.  Thinking of it lasting 2 months with being eligible for prizes you would have to Fold for the team for at least 40 days in the 2 months.

This might change but the way I am leaning now as I want to get some Folders for my team and a 2080TI is a pretty big prize.

Feel free to give me your thoughts on this.  I know many of you Fold for EVGA and have to do so many days to get your Folding Bucks per month for EVGA.  Also EVGA has ok'd me posting this on this forum as they are on the of the sponsor of the prizes.

That is fantastic. I will not be able to participate due to obligations that have come up, but I hope there is a fantastic turnout for the team!

I'd gladly fold for you as long as it doesn't overlap with the TZC!

    Very nice prizes

    I'll look for your Updates

you could set a goal ... "total points" as a second type of achievement ... as an Option to total days = 40

Say 40 days or 100 Million points ... which ever the Folder achieves first ... this Might Net your Team many more Points

Sounds good to me. When are you thinking of running the contest?

If you are recruiting from existing teams, it sounds like you will get a few people to come and fold for a month or two and then revert back to their usual folding team.  It may not accomplish your stated goal of getting some folders for your team.

Also how do you define "folding for 40 days"?  Is there a number of WUs or points per day?

Power Supply will come from EVGA.  Graphics card not provided by them.

thank you for doing a contest, but i would have to say im out.
i fold for EVGA team .
Plus my system only nets me about 7-9 million a month .
    why because im running a EVGA 1070FTW on a EVGA z390 motherboard, running a Intel 8700K .
and i run 24/7 pretty much none stop, only time my system does not fold is a reset or a upgrade on the water cooling .  other than that its full till and bore  with folding.
So thank you and blessings .
But MY team is EVGA,,,,  FTW ..

I think something is possibly wrong with your setup ---> my 1070 Ti Gets well over 800K per day with Core 21

Maybe you setup your Rig to conserve energy ?

Lets Not derail this thread with a conversation on Proper Folding settings

Well I am not going to give away a 2080TI for a couple days worth of work.  I may spread it out over 3 months and say 50 days must of been folding for my team.  The goal is to get my team points up with more folders working for my team.  If folks do not want to do a long contest and work for it I might as well keep the card for myself since it would benefit my team allot more in the long run.

The donator of the card is doing it for my team support.

Sounds like a solid plan. I'll turn over a card to your team. It was fun last time to help out.

40 Days! maybe a 2 to 3 Day Folding Event for another Team would be more practical with a Max of 5 Days or One Work Week.
Most Folders now only Fold 22 Million a Month solely for the EVGA Bucks and that could take up to 14 Days or 2 Weeks Each Month.
Some only Fold 7 Million a month for the minimum EVGA Bucks.

EVGA is Officially Sponsoring your prizes, that is they gave you a New Graphics Card and New Power Supply?

    Teams

    Even

I do believe “a chance at a couple of prizes worth a couple hundred dollars each” will allow people to fold for 40 days without too much worry. Especially when the top prize is a 2080ti.

There is a lot of difference in 10 EVGA bucks in a month and $1000 GPU in a month and a half.

The only deal is that the exact minimum score/minimum PPD will need to be reasonable within the set amount of days required.

Too bad I have no more place in my PCs, or on my power socket for upgrades (unless it's RTX Titans, or higher).
My socket already is blowing the fuse at 1440W.
