There've been a bunch of 27.05. notifications bouncing back to Step 1 because EVGA had no cards to fulfill the orders.

I was one of the people hit with a dud Step 2 a month ago and I just got a new notification for Step 2 - hopefully *this* one is not a dud. My queue status shows as Finished on 6/27/2022 and the Next Step is "Awaiting Approval" so here's hoping.

By the way, it arrives at a very inconvenient time as I'm traveling and itll be a bit before I come back home - once I pay, how long do I have to send the card? Maybe I don't need to ask for an extension if I time my windows right.
 
 

There is a bit of wiggle room for planning.

You have 7 days to complete the payment successfully. After 7 days, your Step-Up will expire and you will have to start the process over again.
This is Step 4 of 4
Your Step-Up RMA number is valid for 14 day(s) before it expires.
 
And then the usual, once they've received your old product they'll send the new one out within 1-3 business days.
 
You can delay payment for a bit and then have 14 days to send in your old card. I wouldn't want to wait until the last days but there's still some room.
How long will you be gone for? It may be worth a shot emailing customer support, explaining the situation.

What's the quickest and "proper" way to contact support for the step-up process, just reply to the email?

 
Good question. I've only ever done that via email or web form. Oh right, and you probably cannot reply to the email. It was a "donotreply" one for me.
 
Step 3 said if there were issues paying to contact them via http://eu.evga.com/Support/support.asp or a German phone number.
Step 4 suggested using supportDE@evga.com or the phone number. That email was in German, hence the DE part in the email.
I don't know what the others look like. Try the support link. It asks me to pick a product to continue. Suppose the card you're stepping up from would be it then.

I will ship my 3070 TI tomorrow, and let`s see when the 3080 will arrive. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesdey...

I had the same. I sent a message and as long as they know that you will be sending the card later, it was fine. They will ask then for the tracking number so they can keep an eye on it.

The handling of the step-up is handled by just a few people, so you have a single point of contact for sure :).

It is not the card to send, but approval of the returned card that takes more time it seems.

Thanks! I've contacted them asking for an extension, since I know the date I'll be able to mail the card two weeks for now.
 
BTW, I've got my Step 3 yesterday (2022.06.30) and can confirm replying to the mails from support does work.

if i may ask..is shipping to EVGA totally on yours hand or does EVGA organise some sort of pick up service?

This is all on you. You get an unpaid shipping label but then have to send it yourself via DHL or UPS or so. They recommend a few services in that email.
I chose DHL. Make sure you pay for the extra insurance because your old GPU is very likely worth more than the usual 500 EUR. Don't forget to write
the RMA# on the box. I think it was on the label but sure doesn't hurt.

I have a problem with step up too but it's about 3060ti, they received my old card on June 13th and still didn't send me new one. At first they were missleading me with some processing delay, but today after my third email they wrote back about finally their shipment being cleared from customs and having it received in their warehouse. So they didn't have the card reserved when asking me to pay & send old one. Also they said my card should be sent today or tomorrow, so probably 3080 are there too.

Edit: speak of the devil, just received a RMA confirmation mail. So looks like it has been sent :).

When did your time run out? I'd just try and contact support, can't imagine people just losing their spot just because they missed
the email for a few days, not after all this time.
 
I believe somebody else here just responded to the email. Give it a try :)

Agreed, i would try talk to EVGA Support Team also.
