Got ilaniol down for 01.10.2020 and a Step 2 on 07.12.2021. It must have been a "bigger" drop this time around and people just haven't posted.

I just hope for you you made a typo and meant 2020 and not 2021, if not you're in for a veeeeery long ride. : P

Yes last drop hit people registered on October 1st 2020. I'm on October 2nd, still no step 2, I'll of course let you know as soon as I get to the next step. : )

Last I've been told it's invoice price - (MSRP+VAT).

The 3897-KL is listed for 789,99 €
https://eu.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=10G-P5-3897-KL
Add 21% (?) VAT and end up at 955,89 €
955,89 - 899 = 56,89 € plus shipping. Is that the same for every EU country? Should be around 7ish EUR.

Actually, I have read multiple posts on this forum about step up cost increase whenever people get on step 2, for unfortunate customers who bought their cards for more than MSRP.

It seems to be that way now: MSRP, taxes included of the new card - MSRP of the old card + shipping cost.

[link=] https://eu.evga.com/produ...mp;chipset=RTX+3070+Ti[/link]

You can check the MSRP of the card you purchased right here (prices are tax excluded so don't forget to add this to price), and subtract it to the price of the card you're aiming for. That should give you a precise idea of your step up cost.

Shipping cost depends on the country you are from, it's 15,99€ for me (France).

I based it on @TEAMEVGADE's response on Twitter.
https://twitter.com/TEAMEVGADE/status/1455109649636728833
I asked about MSPRs and costs and they said they'll base pricing on the actual purchase price of your previous card you're stepping up from.
MSRP - MSRP was my initial thought. I poked their Twitter support a while ago because I was unable to find the old 2070S prices and was
wondering if my invoice price had been too high. UVP in this context is the German abbreviation for MSRP.

And yes, prices have gone up, at least twice so far. That's probably what's coming up repeatedly. When I look into my account I can still see the old price,
which had then been increased by 90 EUR, later on by an additional 10 EUR IIRC. The old MSRP was even more of a dream compared to scalper prices than the
recent MSRP.

~An update. Despite attaching all the correct customs documents ect and choosing UPS my parcel with my 2080s is being held by UPS in germany because they are awaiting information from EVGA support. I placed both the email and the german support phone number on the parcel but its been stuck like this for a week now.

To make things worse I received a phone call from a very polite gentleman basically asking where the card was as they want to wrap up all the step ups before the new year otherwise it will be cancelled! I gave him the shipping number and he could see that UPS were awaiting information from EVGA, he said hed pass on the information to the step up team. But now Im stressed as hell because it might get cancelled by EVGA even though its been waiting information from them for over a week! I dont even know if ill get my shipping cost and step up fee that i already paid back if it gets cancelled. Might have bought a 2080s for full rrp for nothing

As far as I can tell you've done your part. This is on EVGA now. To make things worse for your nerves, holidays made things worse.
I just hope somebody's working there between the years. Twitter support showed a lifesign, answering to one of my tweets 45 minutes ago.

You could email support again, tell them about the phone call on day x, ideally time y, spoken to z, give them the tracking numbers etc. again and then all you can do is wait.
Tracking alone should prove you've sent your card off well within the given time frame. Well technically proving you've sent something off, but still.
Damn Brexit. This should have been wrapped up already. :/

Since I had a lifesign on Twitter I poked them in the thread about it as well. Hope it gets passed on.

1 year 85 days here... ( :

The most annoying part is that US customers are pretty much up to date, with step up registered on October 2021 being addressed, and we, European customers, are long time forgotten, without any consideration. : (

Sucks to be us.

Still no sign of the step up team contacting UPS, it's been waiting for EVGA to provide information since the 17/12/2021 now. Feel like they are just winding down the clock as an excuse to cancel my step up.

Sent multiple emails to support and I just keep getting blown off with "we have passed the shipping number onto our step up team". Feels like EVGAs customer support isn't all it was cracked up to be.

I really hope an happy ending. Maybe you should open a new thread on this forum about this particular matter, feels like EVGA team is taking care of issues like this quite efficiently when it is made public (some kind of damage control stance).

Yeah that's just messed up. When I had their Twitter attention I mentioned this and got the usual we can't give you info on other processes,
then assured me they'd be working this week. I told them I didn't need any info, just somebody to please look into this and see that it's not still hanging in the air.
Poking Jacob can't be the go to solution for everything. 🙄 I wonder if messaging any of the mods here or on Reddit helped?

I've got an Amazonbasics USB NIC on the way, apparently stored in a UK warehouse, and clearing customs took a day according to the tracker.
It doesn't have to take forever. :/ And 😂 to team. It looks like it's a single person doing this during lunch breaks.

On a side node, at least my worries about an EVGA G2 750W not being enough are gone. Just built a new machine using a Seasonic PX-1000. :D

Yes, seems like a very long way to go for you. : (

Maybe you've bought yourself a decent card that you can enjoy until your step up is ready?

To be honest, eventough my card registered for step up is a very decent RTX 2080 Super, after a year and a third of wait, it is still quite depressing to see that this queue isn't moving at all actually. : (

Yeah I am upgrading from a 3070 to 3080.
Just wanted a 3080, but only a 3070 was available. So i decided to play with my 3070 until the step up gets available.

What happens if there will be no card available for us, before the production of 3080 ends?

I reckon there should be enough. At some point sale of produced cards will be held to keep an amount of cards in stock for RMA.
They can't just recycle b-stock, at least not for a while, or you can imagine what kind of traveling lemons will make the rounds again and again.
And compared to the percentage of RMA the StepUp queues are absolutely straightforward, in numbers and in process.
Worst case here is people decide not to step up when it's their time. Great, got a new one for the RMA pool.
It would be interesting to see the numbers of  StepUp vs RMA for the US and EU market but that'll never happen.
At best you get that rough percentage figure of RMA but with EVGA and Ampere cards, that'll be a fat nope. 😂

Finally!

Isn't that to be expected from most 3000 cards? Excessive power use, heat and noise levels in different variations.

should rename this thread to the Unofficial 3080 Step Up Queue Support Group

Hi, my name is Gary and its been over a year since My first step. I think about it everyday and some times I want to give up and just put my self In debt with a pre-build. Ill convinced my gf i need a 3080ti. Tell her something like "we both can use it... sometimes" or "it practically pays for itself". And then I remember how we are all in this together and not to give up. If I give up the terrorists win I keep telling myself

I have heard the step up program is now limited, and you can only step up from a 20 series to a 3060. I have signed up for step up on the 10th of October 2020, to step up from a 2080 to a 3080 FTW. I wonder if these new rules will impact us.

Oh interesting. I can only find this on the US site. The EU one still looks the same.
https://eu.evga.com/support/stepup/
I imagine those limitations are for new people joining the StepUp queue and not implemented retroactively.
Not after more than a year of waiting time, unless they wanted to see the world burn.  Look at the lead time
they actually raised the price for us and that came with a lot of announcements.

I guess it makes sense, they're stopping people abusing the system buying crap re-released cards just for the step up to get current gen top of the line cards. How many step ups from ancient cards sitting in an Amazon warehouse with basically zero value have they had to endure over the last year?

It does suck for anyone who buys A 2080, 2080s or a 2080ti. You cant step up to anything with those now as a 3060 is a downgrade in performance so technically not allowed under the t&c's and utterly pointless

Are any of those 2080 cards even available? We were initially locked into buying from authorized vendors anyway. Unless that changed you can't just get one from a flea market.

At the speed the US StepUp moved this makes a lot more sense. Either way I hope they hurry up for us. More than 14 months in meanwhile. 🙄

I don't think any 20 series could be bought right now, but I heard there is going to be an updated 2060 back on the market in the future so I guess the rule that 20 series can only step up to the RTX 3060 is made for this.

Anyway, I'm not against those changes, seeing how fast it became a thing on the forum here, and having checked on Reddit, it seems that the abuse of the step up program through the GT 1030 was very common. Thinking about all of those in the US queue trading up these 0 value cards like these have been already served with RTX 30 series through step up, and we Europeans are still waiting for our queue to move, sitting on October 1st 2020, it is utterly upsetting, to say the least.

I am just concerned that eventually at some point EVGA would pull the plug and close the step up program for good. They have right to do so, they can modify, cancel or close the entire step up program on their will and without notice. : /

With the release of the new 12GB 3080, I guess it will replace the current 10GB model. I hope not, but if it ever happens, what about us?

The same FTW3 model with its 2GB of added VRAM cost 1230€ tax excluded (would be 1476€ with a 20% VAT). : D

As I see, there are different options:

Option 1: there will be enough stock of 10GB 3080 for our step up to be processed with. That would imply they would have to really take care of our long time forgotten queue in a near future. I have really few hopes about that.

Option 2: EVGA offers the possibility to move our queue to the new 12GB 3080, like they did with FHR - > LHR, only that this time that would cost us a lot more money! I really don't know if I would want this card at this price tag.

Option 3: Screw them, we cancel this embarrassing queue, end of story. : )

You forgot option 4: We don't get any cards and in a year from now our step-ups will all be canceled.
I think the 3080 chips will now all go to the 12G cards and 10G won't be in production anymore. Especially because of the huge price increase it only makes sense for manufaturers to do so. Unfortunately that means we will be out of luck, but at this point I honestly hadn't had any hopes to get the card this year anyways, and next year it will be obsolete so whatever
