I think we are locked into the price it is when we enter step-up.  If you cancel step-up and go back in it will be the price at that time. 
That being said, i don't want to wait till april.  I ordered first thing in the morning on Dec. 3rd, and they haven't got to that date yet, and it was day 2. Who knows how many cards are in this program that aren't listed here. Either that or they are sending out 5 cards a month.

A notice is posted on the product pages still and was posted in early January after the increased tariffs hit and the component price hikes associated with them. The gist is original Step-Up MSRP for anyone in the queue already would be honored until some date in April, at which point if your Step-Up had not been fulfilled by then the Step-Up cost would then increase to the updated MSRP value. So for the 3060Ti it would be like an extra $50.

Yesterday I step in into step-up precess from RTX 3060 to RTX 3060 Ti. Wondering, how long it will take...
Is there one queue for people who wait notification to buy cards and people who step-up their cards?

I also noticed that the step-up price for 3060Ti was US$449, not the current MSRP of US$499.  Is anyone else seeing this?  This was for a new step-up request today.

I paid $425.66 for RTX 3060 and my Step-Up cost is $117.20. So, total will be $542.86 + shipping back.
 
RTX 3060 Ti should cost $499.99+ $37.5(tax) + $14.65(shipping, I took same price as for RTX 3060) = $552.14
If shipping back will cost me around $10 - it almost the same price.

Yea... by some reason this thread doesn't so popular as queues for new buyers. I guess we are the first who wants to step up from 3060 to 3060 Ti - other guys in this thread probably step up from previous generation cards.

This thread is dead because there isn't any new information to share. I can't speak for the people still ahead of me in line from the 2 or 3 hours on 3060 Ti launch day back in December but I don't have my notification yet. You guys aren't the only ones waiting in line, the line just hasn't moved in a month.

I have a feeling that they are holding a lot of cards until after they can mandate the price increase on Step-Ups on April 16. Im only 2 hours into the queue and realistically should've gotten a card by now considering the first hour of the queue was done like 2 months ago

Yeah... I don't think that's how that is going to play out when you finally are able to step up in Summer of 2022. If they give you that price great but I'd have that extra $50 lying around if I were you.

Yeah, definitely go ahead and do what you can to enjoy your current new 3060 while you wait. So far the only reports in terms of notifications here are that we are presumably through the first hour of 3060 ti launch day (12/2/20). Getting in at the back of the line now its going to be quite a wait for you guys as it has already been for those of us waiting 4 months. This place is a bit less of a party than the main purchasing notify threads; probably just because there are less of us and most of us I can only assume at least have something of relatively decent quality to use in the mean time.

Thanks for the reply.  I was expecting a very long wait and just wondered if people were still collecting data on this particular product for step-ups.  If they haven't shipped anything past launch day then yeah, not a big reason to track this closely.

... In the Summer of 2022 they will send all us notices "Sorry, we discontinued product that you Step-Up, we can't proceed with your Step-Up, so we cancelled it. Please login into your account to start a new Step-Up process to a another product" with you obviously can't because 90 days window already expired 
If I'll get RTX 3060 Ti from purchasers queue before I will able to proceed with Step-Up - I will stop my Step-Up process and sell RTX 3060. I bet it will be much more profitable than Step-Up in current conditions.

It may be a bit more flexible than this.  They will likely offer you whatever the equivalent card is at the time... 3060Ti Super or 4060Ti etc.  I had a step-up back in 1000 series days and they changed/added a better model of the same product level.  It was an easy exchange of email with the step-up team to get it swapped to the better offering (of course, I paid the difference).  EVGA is a very accommodating company.
 
I entered this step-up with full expectation that I may score the 3060Ti by other means before they call my number... no big deal.  Always good to have a backup plan.  I also expect that they may update the price to current MSRP.  Either way the family member getting this upgrade will be thankful.

Wandering how many in line... I don't believe EVGA can't find 20 cards to fulfill Step-Ups...

Like I said earlier if the actual purchasing notification spreadsheet is to be believed they only found 10 cards to service the actual buying queue in the past month. What percentage of each shipment that comes in that they consider putting towards the Step-Up queue is of course all hidden behind the curtain as well but its not all that shocking.
