https://www.techspot.com/news/83055-us-politician-pleads-guilty-using-campaign-funds-steam.html When you think of the hobbies that US politicians might pursue, gaming is probably not at the top of your list. However, it seems that's precisely what US congressmen Duncan Hunter chose to spend part of his money on after swiping a sizable chunk of his campaign funds for personal purchases. The congressman has been under investigation for these allegations for a couple of years, but now, he's officially pled guilty to them. According to the Department of Justice, Hunter "illegally" converted over $150,000 in campaign funds to pay for miscellaneous goods and services for himself and his family between 2010 and 2016. Though the DoJ's announcement of Hunter's decision does not explicitly state how much of the $150,000 figure went toward gaming-related purchases, previous reports suggested that he spent as much as $1,302 on Steam content during 2015 alone. I probably had a couple of facepalms while reading the entire article.

article makes it appear that he has kids .... Lego sets plane tickets for his pet rabbits ... ... maybe they were service rabbits (excerpt OP link) Hunter also spent his illegally-siphoned money on things like fast food, movie tickets, new sneakers, Lego sets, luxury hotels, and even plane tickets for his pet rabbits

Oh, this was that guy that tried to blame stuff on his wife a year ago. Hopefully his announced resignation is a portend of things to come...
Have water, will cool.

What does this have to do with gaming news? It's a political article that really doesn't belong on here.

Because he used campaign funds to buy Steam games and other things and got caught. It's a funny article and has nothing to do with any political agenda.

Eh, I don’t buy or subscribe to that logic. No different than comparing world vs nation. It’s all some sort of geographical context, even stating US. Nothing special about California, although Californians would like to believe they are. California has the same sized ego as Texas apparently. A hundred years from now it’ll be silly complaints of Moon vs Mars.😉
