    We have all this technology. but can't live together. Nothing to compare our selves to except our known (or least thought of as known) past. Scary.

    That sounds frighteningly powerful.. follow it up with a 'gun' that alternates between a laser burst that vaporizes metal and a small explosive slug to follow through, and you have a weapon that could take out a tank, a chopper, a plane, pretty much anything.

    A bond villain would have shown this tech off as a tool to combat incoming asteroids and for use in space mining.
