So I've recently started using twitter regularly and my account constantly gets suspended for "suspicious activity" although I only use it from one location at home with the same browser. Apparently the remedy for this is just clicking the captcha box. I'm not violating any rules just following people. Well, recently I logged in and my twitter was suspended once again for the same bogus reason, required me to input my password to click a captcha to login. When I did that I noticed I was following no one except my feed was working fine showing stuff from the people I follow. My following category wasn't even appearing let alone with a number under it. Eventually I figured out I could view it if I followed someone new. When I did this I had 1 followed listed on my account but when I clicked the followed section it showed my 100+ followed accounts. Fast forward 24 hours later my followed went into the 30's meaning over 2/3 of my accounts I was following disappeared. When I looked up these accounts via search it literally still says I'm following them. When I click their page though the follow button wasn't highlighted so I'm not really following them. 
 
My question is what the hell happened. How can I prevent this from occurring again. I still don't have all my previous followed appearing on my list and it was seemingly random who I lost. Has anybody had this happen to them before?

The first thing you need to do is change your twitter password.

My account wasn't compromised. I've changed my password a few times.

Are you posting conservative opinions and ideas on socialists threads?
 
There's your problem. @Jack and @Twitter are commies..can't have any other opinions but what they want you to have, or
you get suspended.
 

 
You should probably be asking Twitter tech/help about the disappearing followers.
By any chance are any tweets you make or any people you follow overtly political in any way? Apparently Twitter are pretty good on censoring right-leaning viewpoints.
 
 

Your account has been suspended requiring you input your credentials sounds like a phishing scam. Drop the web page and use your own link to access twitter.
