I've got a 3070 XC Ultra and X1 reports the need to update the VBIOS in order to enable the resizable bar.  When I select update X1 just quits, no error.  I've tried 1.1.9 and 1.2.0, running as Admin, and latest video drivers.  Any ideas or is there any other way to update the VBIOS?

Thanks!

I have the same issue. I want to enable Resizeable BAR. It says that I have to update the VBIOS. When I press the "Update" button on the "You are about to flash your VBIOS. Click to update to continue" page, the app simply closes.

I tried reinstalling the latest version (V1.2.0.0). I am runing it as an administrator. I tried everything.

Is there any way to fix this?

Same issue here. EVGA 3080 FTW3 ULTRA + Hybrid Kit. Flashed the Hybrid vbios.
    edit:
I have seen on other forums that flashing the original vBIOS for the EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra instead of the Hybrid (though I have the Hybrid kit installed) and then reinstalling X1 will work, but I'm going to hold out for a while for a solution that uses the Hybrid vBIOS.

I flashed the VBIOS to 94.02.42.CO.04 and now it correctly identifies (enabled) Resizable BAR. I believe the prior VBOIS was for GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Hybrid instead of GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid? Finding the right VBIOS seems to be tricky. Lots of links out there that have different VBIOS but appear to be for the same cards.

Is there a way to flash the VBIOS without X1?  I haven't been able to find it :/  If so, where are you finding these bios files?

I found the BIOS I needed at <they removed this link> the "Default" BIOS link at the bottom of the first post. There are other BIOS links I found in other posts on this forum, but that is the one that ultimately worked for me. The package you download from those links will handle flashing for you. You just need to right click them and run as administrator. You might get a popup saying Windows won't run it, but if you click "show more" then you'll have an option to "Run Anyways". The screen will flicker a few times and you'll be good.

    edit:
Apparently I can't post a link, but you should be able to find it by searching for 'EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3080-FTW3-XOC-BIOS-BETA'. It's the top result in Google for me.

Flashing the "default" bios fixed the update bios option glitch in X1 as well as my motherboard was showing a yellow exclamation icon, is all good now! is showing all green and resizable bar enabled.
    Thank you !

I also have the same issue where clicking update just closes X1. I’ve tried every version from 1.18.00 to 1.20.01 beta.

The error logs from an earlier comment is the exact issues I have too.

Here’s a screen cap of my “info” page.
Seems like my attachment doesn't show up. The info is as follows:
    Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 21h1, 64-bit
    Display device: Geforce RTX 3080
    Display driver: 466.47
    Bios version: 94.02.26.48.76
    Device ID: 10DE 2206 38853842
    Firmware: 1.01.16

    My card is a 3080 XC3 Ultra. P/N: 10G-P5-3885-KR

Would it be possible to get the vbios file for my card directly? I don’t mind using nvflash but I can’t find a bios file anywhere.

Update (6/9/2021): A few days later the update just worked although it launched a shell window on the side that performed the upgrade.  I read EVGA disabled all vbios updates for a few days for some reason.

    Same issue here, see screenshot.

Experiencing the same issue - and I believe it's with my 3090 that is the newer revision with the built-in 500w bios. When I try to run either of the manual bios updates from the 3090 xoc post, they just say they do not detect a compatible card. Other cards work fine and do not experience this issue. Given it seems to be an app-level crash with a null-pointer exception, I did manually temporarily disable all the Windows 10 Exploit Guard mitigations at system level and process level for PX1 as a test and the issue persisted.

Having the same issue. I have the EVGA 3080 XC3 Ultra edition (10G-P5-3885-KR). I've already tried the following like many others have. I know Resize Bar is still kinda in 'beta' but hopefully the next update fixes this.

    • Disabled CSM
    • Clean wiped GPU drivers and reinstall and latest hotfix drivers
    • Updated BIOS to 2 available BIOS versions for my motherboard that support Resizable Bar.
    • Set Resizable Bar to Auto in BIOS settings
    • Already in UEFI / GPT partition formatting.
    • Disabled A/V (Windows Defender disabled all exploit, memory integrity protection just in case)
    • Tried in 2 OS's that I have on dual boot for Windows 10 (main is on version 21H1 latest build & other OS is on 20H2 latest build)
    • Closed any background running programs, processes, and conflicting programs like MSI Afterburner / Rivatuner Statistics
    •  Clean reinstall and wiped all settings

    Specs:
    CPU: Intel i9-10900K
Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS XII Hero [Wi-Fi]
    GPU: EVGA 3080 XC3 Ultra
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB

I'm having the exact same issue, X1 Precision crashes when I try to update the vBIOS and Resizable Bar is disabled because vBIOS isn't up to date.
