Been a while since i updated my card. Im on 456.71 and have had no luck trying to update to any newer driver. tried uninstalling current driver with no luck, windows actually installed it 456.71 automatically. on setup to install new driver i click on agree and continue and install app disappears.  any ideas?

What version of Windows are you using?  You need to be newer than Threshold 2 version 1511.

To be clear you are referencing the driver itself right?  Not the GeForce app?  If so, are you expecting to see the GeForce app icon in the task bar and you aren't seeing it?

I have the latest windows build. I did try ddu before asking. I ended up installing the driver by searching it from device manager.

The install launcher fails after i select agree and continue, not sure how to update physx and other drivers.

Dont put that crappy Geforce Experience on your pc, especially if your not great with digging in windows and familiar with settings, services etc... Its a bloated, excessive services executing cpu cycles hog. If you want to clean out for a new driver install, make sure you are running as a admin when executing the file to run and turn the User Account controls to off for the time being while you do this. Use DDU like youve done to clean out the extras then use: NVCleanstall https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-nvcleanstall/  which can either download a newer nvidia driver for your pc or you can point it at a driver youve downloaded and use that one. Just check off physx and the graphics driver. You can add the hdaudio too if you use the hdmi with a tv or something hooked into your gpu. Hope that helps.
