Really sad news. One of the first concerts I saw was him and as good as his music was his videos really pushed the envelope back in the 80's and early 90's. Even in without really changing his look his music videos always stood out as some of the best. Who can forget the music video for "Don't come around here no more" or "Rebel without a clue"?

This is a great loss to the music industry. He had expressed concern earlier this year that he wanted to spend more time with his granddaughter. I am very sad that will not happen. I guess it's time to dig through my music catalog and play some of his old tunes.

Hmm Beena Tom petty & The Heartbreakers & Traveling Wilburys Fan during the 1980's to this very day, this hits me hard tbh as it does for many other Petty fans.

Here is the tragic news of his passings:

Tom Petty dead at 66 after going into cardiac arrest - NY Daily News
    http://www.nydailynews.co...rest-article-1.3536756

This is just an other great loss imo, I grew up with Petty and the Traveling Wilburys and many other rockstarts during the 1980's1990's.. When music was music.ya know?

Here some great songs Tom petty made:

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: In To The Great Wide Open

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: And I Won't Back Down

The Traveling Wilburys: End of The Line

The Traveling Wilburys: She's My Baby

For the memory of Tom Petty one of the greatest icons of musical history.
His music shall live on for me as for many other Tom Petty fans alike.

It's been a rough week with what happened in Vegas and all. But to follow it up with the sudden loss of one of if not the greatest American singer/songwriter of all time is a tough pill to swallow.

I've been a fan since October of '79 when the third album "Damn The Torpedoes" from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was released and preceded to buy everything before and since. First saw him and the band in '83, had front row seats. What a show!

It's just weird that he's gone. It's been a real odd week at work knowing he's gone. I've just got his tunes going thru my head it seems constantly.

Anyway I'm going to post this link to what got me into Petty for those youngins that have never listened.

    I love you always Tom.

His more recent stuff is great too, poking into some different genres a little. Wonder what Mike Cambell and the boys will do next after they mourn their friend.

I guess some of them have had side projects/bands so I think they'll dabble more into that. But continuing as the Heartbreakers, I just don't see how that would work without Tom. Maybe one concert with guest frontmen, I don't know. Tom was the reason there even was the Heartbreakers.

They're both male singers. Other than that there are no similarities that I can tell.

The only good thing is, there are many tributes being played. Get to hear a lot more of his music being played on the radio.
