I find it rather disturbing all you can do is correct my spelling and not say anything for the veterans who have served this country which 95% will never do!!!

Flasher4q: A sincere "Thank you for your service" from a fellow military veteran (although I went to Iraq in 2004). I remember another Vietnam vet, gunsvnvmc, who was an avid folder here ... I am not sure if this Great American is still with us.

As for the nitpicky spelling of that SE Asian country, here's a link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_Vietnam. Peace, out!

I find it rather disturbing that you spelled the name of the country 3 different ways and none of them were correct.  It seems like you have little respect for the Vietnamese.

I think the last thing that Vietnam veterans have is respect for the Vietnamese.... Can you blame them for not liking charlie?

I feel bad for the Vietnam Vets. They should have never been there.  The Gulf of Tonkin incident was a lie.
Vietnam vets will always have a tarnished reputation, but having zero respect for the country which you were supposedly fighting to protect doesn't create a positive enduring opinion.

I salute all veterans of all services. I am a veteran myself. I am glad that Vietnam veterans now have their own recognized day of remembrance.

Re: To Viet man Veterans 2020/04/18 12:52:07 (permalink)
No one cared.  IM NOT BEING MEAN.

I never liked it when people said thank you for your service to USA to me.  Are most Vietnam vets like this?  I didnt need a thank you.  Im from OIF2 and I didnt even look at Iraq (OIF) as a war so.

If "Uncle Joe" (Joe McMoneagle) comes in here talking okay I will say whats up.

People wanted to know stuff about me mainly these other warvets that why I posted this.  As infantry after deployment in formation at the airport I didnt need a welcome home ceremony or listen to a show from Chuck Norris (no offense to Chuck Norris) when we came back.  I was the type that just wanted to be released from formation so we can leave and get off work (Hooters, bar, or club wherever).  Last thing I want to do is sit in formation listening to celebrities make up (Deleted for Foul Language).

I was the one on tv (CNN) running around in Ramadi back in 2004/2005 that took Karkand... I mean Ar Ramadi Iraq.  We lost it after I left (wounded).  I dont care about this stuff and I dont hide or brag about it either but the other regiments that were there before and after my old unit (1st 503rd air assault from 2nd ID) were talking crap on 2BCT (503rd, 506th, 1-9) about this.  This is just something stupid amongst regular army types you guys.  REGULAR ARMY ISNT HARDCORE (regular military)...  its Special Force units that Im looking at.

Im not trying to pick on them one bit about this if they hated the military.  How many were drafted and would rather play baseball instead?  I never liked playing baseball if I was it was peer pressure or something and I suck at baseball.  I like training in alot of field problems as OPFOR ambushing "coalition forces".  I was usually the first one up the hill.   Im into sneaking around during night on foot doing raids too.  Alot of guys dont like doing this stuff.  After military people like me as infantry we do Federal Govt. jobs like SWAT or US Marshal Service.  Im not into law enforcement.
