Re: Titan X not going pci-e 3.x anymore, 2nd card

Yeah, before I got disabled I would have given this card to one of my friends just to get rid of it, but I had a job then (for 14 years I had the same job), but now I have not worked for almost 3 years, and my wife and I live off of her disabilitywhile I try to get mine. So, no, I cant just 'go out and buy a new card'. Or buy a new motherboard. I have to work with what I have. And since the motherboard works fine with every other video card I put in it, it HAS to be the video card, or the combo of my hardware WITH the titan x. I can put it into my 7 year old computer, but what will that prove? It would be like what I just did in my 8x slot, but worse, because chipsets are different, as well as pcie 2.0 vs 3.0, as well as win7 vs win 8.1. Or how about a super old amd machine? I can put it in that, with pcie 1.0 (or maybe 1.1 at best), but its all amd drivers and hardware and win10. No, changing the situation, drivers, chipset, os, and the fact none of them have usb 3.0 or 3.1, m.2, pcie 3.0, or I7 (haswell?), in them means it wont replicate the issue at all. Thats why I told Dr. Death to send me another X99 mobo to test with, to see if its my mobo. Otherwise its comparing apples to oranges. If EVGA would like to send me an x99 mobo to test with, I would be more than happy to test and send it back, and if its my mobo, maybe I can sell my car or borrow some money from a friend that knows I wont be able to pay them back for a couple years, to buy a new x99 mobo. Other than that, putting it into another machine will do absolutely nothing to replicate the issue I am having with my hardware. Changing tovpcie 2.0 may not recreate the issue. A different OS may not replicate the issue. Amd instead of intel may not replicate the issue. Just like evga saying it passes their generic benchmark tests (at 1920x1080, which is not what I am running), on a monitor (if they even test with a monitor) that is not a dp only, gsync/ulmb 120/144hz, using games instead of static benchmarks, and saying the card is fine because it passed their little test a 8800gt could pass, and they are really just giving me other pwoples cards that have issues and have been sent in (they dont have any new cards to send me, just other cards that have problems also, old cards users send in), and ALL of the testing I have done points to psu or video card, and I have replaced the psu 2x now, the only thing left is crappy broken old video cards others send in that pass 'weak' evga testing software from 10 years ago, its just rediculous. I am not the only person that has had this runnaround from evga (and other mfr's I am sure), but it IS the only time I have had a hardware issue this bad, if at all, except stuff going out completely, and evga just sending me others bad video cards and insisting its a problem with my system, when the motherboard is the only thing NOT tested yet, but which works with EVERY other video card put into the system just fine, is rather annoying. And tiring, hearing the same crud over and over again. 'It works fine in our test system'. Trust me, if I could afford to sell the card, and get a 1000 series card instead, I would. If I could borrow a 1000 series card, just to test if its the power saving feature, or the 900 series card not supporting dp 2560x1440 gsync/ulmb correctly (which is what I think is happeneing), but the 1000 series does, or if it still fails to get the fps and stability that I got with my 1st brand new titan x, and reviewers and other users get, then I will know its something specific with my system. Or, maybe its the old messup of 'you really need 24gb memory to run a titan', but evga said you only needed 2gb(?) Minimum to run it, and Nvidia said the titan x's would slowly start dying if they didnt get 24gb or more system memory (which I only read about a couple months ago), and all these cards coming back is part of that problem? And maybe thats why Nvidia wont let any vendors sell titan x video cards anymore? Who knows. All I want is a good working video card. If evga can help with that, even if it means helping with things other than an rma of the titan x, I have nothing to do but help out. Heck, I am already testing the video cards they are sending me, and telling them whats wrong with them anyway. :( Edit: Sorry for the long post, and some rambling, but its 5am here, and I am in pain (which is why I am up), and writing on my tablet. And having had issues since 6 months after buying the brand new video card (and whole system bought together) in 2015 (but not contacting support until a little over a year ago, because I thought I could narrow down the issue with testing memory, cpu, other video cards, os reinstall, etc etc etc ad infinitem, because I had been able to fix other hardware/software conflicts over the last 26+ years), the aggrevation level is at 110% with this issue and with evga (and with everyone saying the same things over and over and over again, without reading what I have done, and my financial situation, which I think people think I am trying to get something better for free because I have no money, which is not the case. I am a man, a man of my word, a VERY good QA person (with Symantec, MS, and other awards for QA'ing software (which some were hardware related)). I feel like evga is either trying to make me out as a criminal or an idiot that doesnt know the workings of hardware and software, or are dragging out the warranty until it ends and then 'oh well, too bad for you'. :(

OK, I just packed up the Titan X and shipped it off. I put the GTX780 back in, installed drivers, installed afterburner and gpu-z, and noticed something: The GTX780 has the pci-e slot at 16.3.0 ALL the time. The Titan X kept having the pci-e slot at 16.1.0, or 16.1.1, until I would fire up a game and then it would go to 16.3.0 (or, I fire up an app, and it would go to full pci-e then die back down to 1.0 or 1.1). Is this because the Titan X has THAT much more power saving features than the 780 does?

Sounds like the 780 was constantly being loaded. 1.1 = card is at idle. 3.0 = card is under a load.

Well, it looks like my AV was running a scan in the background, its now back to 16.1.1 And, you said 1.1 is idle? What is 16.1.0 ? I had that some of the time on my Titans (or, at least the last one anyway, I dont remember the rest before it).

LOL, popped in the GTX780, fired up 3dmark FireStrike Extreme test, and it passed, 1st time, every time. Sigh. WTD is wrong with the Titans in my system? I am thinking of just trying 780's in sli (I found out that 780 + 770 would not work, as they have 3gb and 4gb memory respectively, and that software sli thing wont work with different memory sizes). :( Now, if I could find someone to swap my 770 4gb for a 780 3gb, I would be in luck. :P

Titans are selling for 5-600$ on ebay, why not sell it and get a used 1080 or new 1070Ti if you get enough for the Titan? Have you taken the Titan and tried it in a friends computer? I hate seeing you struggle with this, what five cards now? Seems there has to be something else going on. Have you looked on the Asus forums at all and see if anyone else has this issue with that MB?

6 cards now. I havent gotten the 6th card back yet though. :( I got excellent gaming for the 1st 6 months, and then everything went to S in a handbag, and hasent been god since then (except when using the 780). I have thought of selling the titan, but they are only going for $450+ from what I have seen. I would love to have the chance to test a 1080 or 1070TI, but I would hate to lose all that memory (I have gotten 9.2GB on 1 game before, so yeah, 12GB is very good to have), but if I can play at the same performance level of the titan, then I would gladly do it. I even told the 'supervisor' this last time, and he hemmed and hahhed, and said NOPE. I have looked at the Asus forums, and nothing really stands out. The X99 mobo's were a 1 off mobo, and none of them did particulary well, but the Asus Maximus VII seems to have the best ratings and least failures (I wish I would have shelled out for that, but the sabertooth tuff has a 5 year warranty). I have heard that Asus does just like Evga though, and sends back boards that have been sent in by others as having issues, and they send them back w/o checking them out or anything (they SAY they are good, but have the exact same issue, or new issues), IF they even send them back (some people have waited over 5 months and havent recieved their rma yet), so I am VERY reluctant to send in the mobo to see if they can find an issue (and I also read they charge more than a new mobo to fix little piddly stuff). And, my friends all have systems older than mine, or even parts from my old builds, or my old whole computers (I used to be the one making lots of money, and would give or sell really cheap my old stuff to my friends and forum friends), so thats not really worth trying, as everything is old. Plus, it costs money to ship things to other states, and I dont have money. I am going to try it in an old system though, an amd A3 board. I am going to put my monitor on it with the 780, play until I find the min/max/avg frames of the games I play, and then put the titan x in and see what I get (on my new intel system, I am getting worse fps than with the titan, thats how I know its some hardware glitch with my perfect specs, so the only other coarse of action is to try in a different system). (BUT, this isnt a real fair test, and may not repro my exact issue, as its an amd instead of intel system, and win10 instead of win 8.1, and no M.2 card). But, EVGA has sent me some VERY terrible cards, that they clearly never even tested, they just pulled it from the shelf and threw them in a box and sent them. Only 1 card worked as good as my new one did, but that lasted only 3 weeks until performance started dropping. I am glad I never got the other 2 titans and 2 monitors like I planned on doing, for tri-sli and triple monitor gaming, it would have ended up a nightmare based on just 1 card. :( EVGA has dropped the ball on this as far as I am concerned. I even said I would take a lesser 1000 series card, but they said 'nope, we will keep sending you the same crap cards others send in because they are broken, and you wil have to deal with it, and we dont have any new titan x cards anyway, so you are out of luck, thanks for the money'. Just because they are sending me other peoples old cards that are having issues, doesnt mean they are honoring their warranty, IMO. I think these are products of what nvidia said, that they need 24gb ram or they will degrade over time and never get back to normal again. So, I hope they send one thats from a 32gb system this time. But, I doubt it. My hopes are crushed already, as evident by thinking about going to sli 780's instead of the titan x. :(

Yeah, I am going to see how long this one lasts. I am getting some good/ok gaming sessions though, so its not all bad. Thats really all I wanted, was to game well. Even though it has some fps issues, and popin issues. So, like I said, will see how long it lasts. :)

Wow. EVGA giving away 3 1080ti's to people who spent 99 to 200 $$$ on one of their coolers, but I am on my 6th non-working Titan X, at $1200 + $200 for the liquid cooler for it (since evga did NOT make them anymore, I had to purchase a 3rd party one), but I am NOT eligible to enter because of it? How frikin stupid. Anyway, for you people who have bought their latest liguid cooler, here is your chance to get a 1080to here: https://www.evga.com/articles/01172/buy-clc-enter-win-1080ti-ftw3/

Well. this one just kind of went bad (just like the other cards endend up going bad, but certainly not like this with the loud screeching sound, or even the screen going white). It worked 'ok' for a few game sessions, but I was forced to install msi afterburner AGAIN, just to be able to play, AGAIN. Seemed to overheat (even though its the same temps, actually even lower this time, since its winter here now and my computer room starts at 60F (I start the computer, the room is at 60 farenheit, it heats up as I play, but not over 71 farenheit). There was a loud SCREECHING sound, the screen went white (this only lasted a second, but seemed longer seconds), then the game came back on, and everything was just like all the other cards again, terrible poppin, missing textures, stuttering. Then, I installed MSI Afterburner, set fans to 100% (just like I have to do with EVERY rma'ed card they have sent me, even though my A/C now faces directly into the front of my computer, so it gets cold air from outside no matter what). Gamed 'ummm, o k...' after that. So, back on the evga merrygoround. :(

Well, I finally got the card working better than just 'ok'. But, its not a very good solution, as you will see below. Here is what I did: 1. Installed MSI Afterburner (yet AGAIN). The card will just not play a game at all without the game crashing or stuttering or just hanging, UNLESS the stock cooler fan is at 100% all the time (yes, even when not playing a game, just web browsing). 2. Put the card in the 2nd pci-e slot, instead of the top slot (this made 0 difference also, w/o afterburner and the 150cfm fan blowing over it, it still did the same stuttering, hanging, and crashing. Just want to note even MORE stuff I have tried to get this working at all, let alone gaming with it). 3. Put the Cooler Master HAF-X case on my desktop, right where the A/C can get into it (although its not needed, the case and all components EXCEPT the evga titan x run way cooler than any other case I have ever had, and EVERYTHING runs at a stable under 110F. Again, EXCEPT the evga titan x.). 4. Opened BOTH side panels, and left them off. 5. Put 1 extra 140mm fan (60cfm? about there is right) in the 5.5 inch bay slots (to get more airflow into the case, over the memory, and over the mobo, since I have watercooling), and for some air over the back of the video card. 6. Put a 120mm 150cfm fan directly blowing onto the hottest part of the video card, on the top, where there is NO cooling on the backside memory and vrm area (I did this because when I barely touched the top of the card while gaming, I burnt myself (yes, you heard that correctly, I burnt myself. The top of the card, that has NO cooling on it, even when a fan is blowing horizontally from the front of the case to the rear of the case, with no brackets in the pci-e brackets so air can funnel from the front directly out the back of the case uninterupted, it still got way too hot to even touch. Even when the side case was off, it got too hot to touch). So, although the gpu may be reporting 66c (with fan 100% and 150cfm fan on), the backside is WAY hotter than that, hot enough to burn skin. 7. Removed the pci-e usb 2.0 4x slot card (although this was removed before I even got this card, and it didnt make a bit of difference. Same 3dmark fails and stutters and crashes w/o afterburner and 150cfm fan). 8. Uninstalled Avira Antivirus, and installed Norton AntiVirus (although this didnt do anything at all. 3dmark fails and stutters and crashes w/o afterburner and 150cfm fan, wild fps swings). BUT, I can manually turn on 'Full screen mode', or 'gaming mode' as its called. I can turn it off for anywhere from 20 minutes to 6 hours or until reboot. THIS helps (I think). Although Avira had the mode also, you could not tell it when to run or not, as it just detected when something was in fullscreen (but, some games half-arse it, since its a console port, and may not send the right signal for Avira to turn it off). 9. Set the pagefile.sys to be 2gb start and 25gb max (although this did nothing, just like everything else. 3dmark fails and stutters and crashes w/o afterburner and 150cfm fan). It was on 'system managed before, and would get very very large, way past 25gb, maybe as far as up to 45gb? 10. Disabled Malwarebytes Antimalware. (although this did nothing, just like everything else. 3dmark fails and stutters and crashes w/o afterburner and 150cfm fan). 11. Removed all of the HDD's, except the OS m.2 drive. So, with ALL of this done (plus all the other stuff done over the last year, plus the string to hold the card straight so it wont sag), I have had 2 good gaming gaming sessions. BUT, I have also had 2 bad gaming sessions (I still get that weird hitch/hang, where it goes all white and sounds like the video game sound or video card sound sends a bad signal to the headset and it 'whines' very very loudly through them (NONE of the cards before this did this, ojnly this 6th titan x has done this white out and whine thing), I have to end task the game and its back to 'normal'. And, I still get 'hitching' once in a while, while either gaming of just browsing the desktop (if I use G-Sync the hitching goes away, but not everything else), and I am used to the once in a while hitching in games, since 60hz lcd monitors with lag came onto the scene), so that doesnt bother me much. But it DOES bother me when it happens every second w/o the fans being on all the time. :( So, after all of this, the video card passed 3dmark 1 time now. I have had 3 'ok' gaming sessions. I have had 2 'good' gaming sessions. I have had 3 'bad' gaming sessions. AND, I get to have a face full of either freezing or very hot air in my face, since the case is right next to me on the deskt, with the side case off. AND, I get to hear not only the titan x fan at 100%, but the 150cfm fan at who knows how high a decibel?. I definitely CANT have my speaker going, as its way too loud. I HAVE to wear my headset to play, and even then I hear the fans going. I also have to wear a jacket and beanie, to stay warm while gaming. So, what have we learned? It is not the pci-e slot. It is not the case cooling. It is not the memory (memtest+ says its good). Its not (or does not appear to be) the cpu (cpu doesnt get hot, been water cooled since the day it was in this machine). What can I test with to rule out the cpu as the issue? I have win 8.1 64 bit. I have tested everything else, why not the cpu also? I dont want to use prime 95 though, as some say that it can kill the cpu, and its not 64 bit? Its not the PSU (anymore, anyway, since the bad evga 1300 psu was sent in). Its not software (at least, not the antivirus softwares, nor any other, since ran a clean boot also way before this). It does not seem to be the HDD's (although I havent ruled out the m.2 drive yet, as I would need to make backups, move files around, put another hdd in, and re-install from scratch to another drive). It is not the monitor, as the same exact computer with the 780 in it, runs everything w/o ANY of the problems I have had with these titan x's. And, the 780 runs everything fine, ALL the time, vs 2 good 'days' out of 8! SLI works fine on this computer (only tested 8800gt's though, as thats the only ones I have to test sli with). I am going to see if my buddy will trade me his 780 for my 4gb 770, and pay for the shipping. I will sell the titan x if he will let me. Its not the motherboard, as EVERY other video card work fine on it EXCEPT the Titan X. So, what does that leave us with? A video card that reports it being 85c on the gpu, and who knows what on the backside of the card, where it gets hot enough to burn skin? A video card that needs a 150cfm fan blowing across the back of it to cool it enough to play a game w/o crashhing. Yep, proof that its the video card, no matter what evga (or anyone else, for that matter) wants to say.

OK, and in case you dont believe a word I say, here are some pics: http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/dave3d_bc/library/Computer/Logitech/6th_video_card?sort=3&page=1&postlogin=true The card is normally bent a tiny bit like that, even with my string holding it up, so its not the fans fault, the fan is just kind of resting in there. Oh, and I also had to take out my Sound Blaster card, and uninstall drivers, because the titan in the 2nd slot leaves me no additional slots except that X4, and with the fan in there, even the x4 isnt viable. :(

If I remember right you said" you have friends come over to game" Have you tried any of these GPUs in another computer? I have a titan Xm and it does blow hot air out the back and a little bit out the side bere there is an open slot. I do not game with it, just some BOINC or folding now and then. It blows the hottest air of all my GPUs

Yes, they come over once a year. Next time they will be up here is next July. And, they have a lot of MY old computer gaming hardware. They dont have new stystems. Also, do you have a backplate on your titan x ? Just wondering. I think the backplates have those memory pads, and make the cards run cooler? Or at least cool the memory on the backside. And, if you dont game with it, it is hardly a comperable situation anyway (seriously not trying to be mean, or say anything bad, but its really not the same web browsing and playing hardcore games, you know?). Its just ridiculous to be on my 6th titan, and have the exact same issue every single card: Not being able to game, whereas my 780gtx games better than the titan x does. (although some of the RMA cards I got back were so much worse, although in other areas like the DP port did not work at all, or the pci-e fins were worn to the nubs, or it crashed every 2nd game I played, etc...all have been the SAME in the heat output area-which seems to be the reason for the VERY poor performance, the hitching, and the inability to pass 3dmark). Also, just like with every other titan I have gotten back, the temps keep climbing higher and higher and higher. It started out not going above 60c (about 58c). Then it started hitting 60c. Then 62c. Now top temps are 66c. Mind you, thats with the 150cfm fan on it, the video card fan at 100%, and the case open, and the room temperature even lower than when I got the card (its winter, its starting out 60F in my room now, where summer, start of winter, it used to be about 68F starting in my computer room. :(

It does have a backplate. I would say Folding and running primegrid on the GPU having it at 100% or close to 100% load, 24 hours a day, day after day is much more torture than gaming for a few hours at a time. I do not run it everyday of the month, maybe 3 - 5 days in a row, couple times a month, 24 hours a day 95-100% load. It blows off some hot air for sure. Real hot One other thing, it is not in a case either, it is running open on a wooden table with a few small wood blocks under the MB to keep off the table. One, two, three bad cards, ok, up to six, you have to worst luck I ever seen. I would really try to get that card in another system and see what it does. If it were me, I would of kept the plastic on the last one and sell it on ebay for 500$ or more, yes selling for that. Buy a gtx1070 , 1080 or something else Every number in green is a sold card. They are still selling for good money. https://www.ebay.com/sch/...g=50&LH_Complete=1

with a haf-x you shouldnt need to take the door off or use that fan you have sitting on it. with the case door closed and the 200mm fan in the door blowing on it you should be golden. if you want to increase the flow you could probably pull the 200mm and mount a pair of higher cfm 120s. i think bitfenix makes higher cfm 200mm fans too if i remember correctly. eh only a couple 100cfms more than the stock coolermaster fans. im sure its just the angle of the camera but your card looks crooked lol. im really not baggin on ya but you definately have something else going on. theres just no way in a normally running pc you should have that many cards go bad on ya. hopefully youll figure out what it is. its got to be maddening to deal with.

Yes, yes you are 'being mean'. Friends who live in a different state, who come over once a year, are not 'friends who can stop by' whenever they want. And, would you like to tell me how I should manage my money, which mortgage I should get, and when I should change the oil in my car? Then you should not try to tell me what to do with my old hardware either. And, just because you have money, and computers, and a lifestyle that you have, does not mean others have the same as you do, nor the same life circumstances. So, this is one of those posts that are just attacking me for no reason. There is no helpful info. There are no suggestions on how I might keep trying to get a video card to work that obviosly does not want to work with my system. So, basically, it is a troll reply, that 'should' be reported (although I am not going to report it. Just keep in mind other people are not you).

OK, so I put the heatsinks on (thanks Bob! The double sided scotch tape not only holds well, but it also transfers the heat really well also! ). I also put on a really light fan, to blow the heat off the fins quickly. The card seems to not go straight to 81-85c anymore, but even after 60C the card starts hitching, with the popin problem (textures in games just start popping in super close to me, when the previous game, or 1/2 way through the map, it is just fine and dandy). I even put in a GTX580 and dedicated it to PhysX, but the same exact problem happens, it just takes about 5-10 minutes longer to get to 60C and start the hitching and popin issues. OH, and the new FireFox allows me to attach images again, finally! YAY! )woops. seems not all of them work. 401kb image is failing to upload, even though the message says it takes up to 500kb images, sigh. Seems to be a cap of 300 to 400kb. Message is wrong). PLEASE EVGA!!!! I am PLEADING yet AGAIN!!! PLEASE swap me with something like a 1070TI !!!!! Even if its just letting me see if the 1070ti will work with my system or not, I will givwe you my titan x, you give me the 1070ti, I test for a few weeks (which is about how long the titan x seems to last in my system), and if it doesnt work, we can swap back, and I will sell the card in the packaging you send it back to me, and I will swap my 770 4gb for a 780 3gb and just do the whole 780sli thing (which ALSo works just perfectly fine, for your reference. ONLY the titan x does not work in my system). I am PLEADING to you AGAIN, after more than a year of this crud! PLEASE help, and dont sell me down the river of giving me crud cards that wont work until my warranty runs out! PLEASE!

Well, I WILL say this: With that GTX580 in there, games now look like they are supposed to! I dont know why, but they look as good as when the 780 or 770 is in. But, with the single titanx in, its like the card isnt drawing everything write, but with every other card it draws right? Stupid titan. :(

Yes, yes it is maddening. And, no, I should NOT need all of that just to cool a video card (6 of them now, all the RMA's), especially since EVERY other component runs SO cool. Except the video card that is. Its maddening that evga just keeps sending me other peoples problem cards, and saying thats all they can do to make it right, when it isnt. But, oh well, its running 'ok' right now, so I will send it back in when it goes out just like all the others did (hopefully its still in warranty by then).

Sorry, havent been on a lot, and the couple times I have, the games are running fine with the 580 in there. I have no idea how, or why, but I am not complaining. Games look good, they are running at the right FPS, and other than having to run msi afterburner because of the titan x heat, everything else os playing well. So, if anyone is having issues like mine, just get a 500 series card and plug it in and set physx to it, after installing old 500 drivers. :)

Sigh. 2nd/3rd stage has come back. FPS is 99/100, stable as a rock, then after 10-30 minutes of gaming, it starts tanking all the way down to the 40's. 1st stage is that the cooling goes from being good cooling, to BAM! 181-185F. Next stage(s), is FPS all over the place, with the textures not working right. (I thought that the 580gtx in there had fixed these issues, but it hasnt, as my gaming last night, with an OLD game, The Elder Scrolls Online, started going to pieces just like my newer games have. The network reporter for the game showed the same 100-110MS EVERY time, no matter if it was at 100FPS or 40 FPS, so I know its not the networking doing it. And, I am running around the same part of the town and right outside it, so its not that I am in a new area, or new map. And, I shut the machine off, and turn it back on, and still the same results. So, I result back to what seems to always be the case before I have to rma the card again: K-Boost. Well, K-Boost did not fix the issue either. It DID seem to make the textures much sharper though. BUT, it also made the FPS just horrendous. It started in the 70's, and after a few minutes only, it went down to the 30's. Sigh. So, my 6th RMA card is starting to do just what every single Titan X has done, and all with new psu, new cooling, new 580gtx taking the load off of the titan x as the physx card. I just dont get it. I really really dont. The Titan X seems to have the same or worse issues as the 970 980 do, yet I get crud cards back?

No one and I mean NO ONE goes through 6 video cards in the same system and doesn't start to suspect that it isn't something else in their system that's causing their issues.....except you? What you are describing is a near statistical impossibility that 6 video cards in a row all have the SAME issue. That just doesn't happen. The odds of that happening are like driving across the country and buying a lottery ticket in each state and winning every single one.....it just doesn't happen. I know you don't want to accept the painfully obvious fact that it is something else in your system, be it hardware or software that causing this, but that's what it is. But we all know what you're trying to do don't we? They could send you a Titan X maxwell directly from the desk of Jensen Huang himself and I'm sure you would find these "issues" cropping up before long wouldn't you? RMA isn't a path for a free step up to a newer, better performing generation card. I applaud EVGA for continually sending you back Titan X maxwells. It's so painfully obvious what you want from all your begging and rambling nonsense. K Boost seemed to make your textures sharper? lol....

I am not trying to GET a new, better card. That was not my intent from the 1st Titan X going out. Oh, and what about that guy that had 5 980's, count them, 5, FIVE, cards be bad before he got a good one. That is statistically impossible also, right? But it happened. And, just because it is happening to me, and EVGA has decided to not even TRY anything else, when "I" have done EVERYTHING they have asked me to do, and MORE, and they are either sending me my card right back to me, because as they said 'it tested fine' in their little crappy 1920x1080 7 year old test, but doesnt pass gaming testing? Sound familiar? LOTS of people have had this issue with EVGA. But, its never EVGA's fault is it? Nope. Its the end users fault. Well, you know, sometimes its not the end users fault. And, yes, I have checked EVERY piece of hardware in my system. It ALL passes testing just fine. EXCEPT the EVGA Titan X. It is PAINFULLY obvious to me that this card does NOT work with my computer specs. This one, the 3rd one, and the 1st one I had all 'seemed' fine for a while, but just gets worse over time. The 1st card lasted 6 months. 6 months. I was moving at the time it was going out, so I didnt get to report it for a long time after. The 3rd card lasted 3 weeks. THREE weeks. This one lasted, what, 5 gaming sessions before it started up? And, I thought this was going to be the good one, because it is the 1st card since the brand new one I bought a few years ago that actually passed 3dMark. I was ecstatic, but still unsure if it would last. And, sure enough, it hasnt lasted. What would you expect if you bought a new car, and the tires kept falling off of them. You bring it back to the dealership, and they say they fixed it, and it may or may not be fixed right off the bat (some cards were SUPER bad that they sent me). Well, after 3 WEEKS, the wheels fall off again. the dealership is very nice, and says they fixed it again. And again. And again. And again. For over a year. And all that while, they are telling you to put threadlock on the lugnut threads, that will fix it. Or, you need better cooling because the lugs are getting too hot, and thats why the tires keep falling off. Or, that your seatwarmer is the issue. And, after doing everything they say, the tires still fall off. So, you want your money back right? Well, sorry, you cant get your money back. You ask about a step-up program, to give them MORE money for lesser of a car, and nope, sorry, thats not available either. So, you say, ok, give me another car, maybe the wheels wont fall off of that one. And they tell you all they have are cars with problems that they can give you. And you say ok, maybe one of thos wont have the same issue. So, you get a couple of those cars, but they are ere WORSE than the car you handed them, like no steering wheel, or the engine wont start, or the car pulls to the left all the time, no matter how hard you try to keep it going straight. But, eventually, and the dealership TELLS you this, that all the cars they have have problems, so you try to take the best piece of crud car that might get you to work. But, the wheels still keep falling off. You ask the dealership for a comperable car, that may be worse than the car you have, but at least might let you drive to work. Sorry, we cant do that. Put up with ALL of this for OVER a year. Then you find out that people who have the same issues as you do, but a model that costs 1/2 the price you paid for your LTD, you find out they are giving the latest model of these cars to people who have both spent LESS TIME troubleshooting, spent LESS money on their car than you did, and LESS EVERYTHING, and they are giving them brand new 2019 models, while you still have a car that the wheels are falling off of. Would you be mad? I know I would be. I have been very nice since the begining, but as time goes on, but as time has gone on, and I keep getting the same issues, and I am going outside evga to try to find solutions (like the 580 being the physx card, that was my idea, not theirs, and it worked for a few sessions, but it isnt working anymore). But, I get more and more mad every video card. Every time I think its going to work, and it does for a little while, and then it just poops out. Again. And again. And again. And the warranty expiration is getting closer and closer (and you are pretty darn sure this is what the dealership has been waiting for the whole time, its the only thing that makes any sense). And, you know you are going to get stuck with a piece of crud card that DOES NOT WORK right, what would you do? Buy a new video card? I dont have money for that. Sell my card, for less than half the price, and MAYBE the next persons machine doesnt play well with it either, and the charge is reversed, and you are out even more money for shipping AND still have the same card? Dont tell me you would be yelling EVGA IS THE GREATEST VIDEO CARD MANUFACTURER IN THE WORLD after having something like this happen to you? Would you? Would you want to be compensated for not only your TIME spent trying to make this card work right when every single other video card works just fine, but your gaming time you have missed out on? The Tome spent redoing the os? The time spent making an image of the original machine, over and over, when you get a new card? The time pulling memory, spu, gpu, ALL of system apart, and everything works fine (well, not everything. The EVGA Power Supply was bad. So, glad I got to find that out, and evga handled it well, and I have a good working psu again), EXCEPT the video card? Try googling evga and warranty, and see how many other people this has happened to, where they get sent their same card back because the 3d interprolater machine, that doesnt play REAL games, NEW games, or even OLD games, but plays a rote of a video over and over, says your card is fine, but evga says its the users hardware, not their video card. Or motherboard. Or power supply. I didnt used to think this could happen either, as I MUST have had VERY good luck with EVERY computer I have had (what? I built maybe 11 machines of my own, and a few for friends, and MANY for work, since I was in the Software business for 14 years at Symantec Corperation, yeah, I have heard it all), and the only thing to go bad was a power supply (that popped/smoke/burnt electronics), a pair of G-Skill ram that didnt work together (and they came in the same kit), a Corsair Headset that EVERYONE had crack on them, because of the type of plastic used on them (but, corsair at least saw fit to recall the headsets after all the complaints), and now this. THE single worst experience in my whole entire history of computers, going back to 1995. And, EVGA does not, will not, refuses to, make it right for me? Sure. Sure, nothing like this has ever happened to anyone, ever before, and certainly not with AVGA. And, sure. Sure, you would not be stark raving lunatic mad over something like this happening to you. Sure. I am not a hateful person, but I hope your next computer does this exact same thing to you. THEN maybe you will have some concern for others, instead of saying "BS That cant happen! It is statistically impossible!". Sure. Sure. BTW: Dont bother replying. I wont see it. I blocked you.

I hope typing that wall of blathering text didn't take long to type because I didn't read any of it. Stop pissing and moaning, you're not getting a free upgrade just because you have buyers remorse or can't afford a new card. Get overt it

Poop. Nothing has changed, no new updates, nothing (well, I DID do that Gsync indicator test, but thats it). Now, launching my games, games are coming up in the background again, instead of in the foreground. And they arent looking very good when Windows key + Enter 'ing back to full screen. Tried steam and Ubi games did it, quake 3 didnt do it though. I am wondering if its a 'launcher' thing? But, again, nothing has changed, except me toggling gsync on and off 1 time, setting has been OFF since I turned it on for 1 reboot and 1 game launch, and thats it. And that was a couple gaming sessions ago (thats the only time I get on, is to game, and that was what, 2 times since toggling the gsync on/off?). This is one weird thing that was happening to my 1st video card that I had to rma, after the excessive heat started. But, it went away, even with all of my bad gpu's they sent. So, dint know what the heck is going on. Maybe this is yet another in a series of things that I just have to start rebooting my computer when it happens to see if it stops happening. :( Just weird. Nothing but weird. :P
