It is still pretty bad. Supply chain issues are not going away anytime soon due to pandemic impact. That does not mean that you can't get a card. There are plenty of options from B&M, to online, to buying from scalpers for those that are desperate. If you are lucky you can go to a store like MicroCenter where GPU drops are pretty frequent on a weekly basis and get a GPU. While it might not be a GPU you want, not sure you can be truly picky these days.

Stock is improving in Europe. I don't expect supply to meet demand until 2022.

It sucks and makes me wish I ordered 3080 at the launch and didn't wait for more reviews. Now if you want to get your hands on one in Finland you need to pay 3x MSRP for the lower end cards and no mid to high end cards are in stock.

AMD cards seem more available...but the crazy thing is they are usually 2-3x more than MSRP.  Even if I wanted one...NEVER gonna pay over MSRP.  I will use my 2080 TI...still does what I want it to do...

I hate it. I've been waiting for over a year for an upgrade, sold my PC a little prematurely and now.. Nothing.. I've gotten a gaming rig from work for a bit, but I'll have to return it soon I imagine.

Availability of some AMD GPUs are getting better, but NVIDIA cards are almost impossible to find unless you order a pre-build PC.

I've seen a good handful of AMD cards in person, but the markup is still around 200%.

E-bay is full of scalped Nvidia and AMD cards. So if you need a EVGA card bad enough there's one there.
Amazon also Newegg show them the greenbacks, which I'm not going to do

    Hello there
At this time i will not buy any card.
    Too expensive.
My 1070 (EVGA) does the job until now.
Someone told me i should sell this card now to get more money. The problem is: Shall i put a potato inside ? (OT: instead the old sticker Intel inside potato inside LOL )
No i think this year i will still use my 1070.

I'm hoping to win the newegg shuffle, but have terrible luck. I also seem to have encountered a bug. I entered today, but never got the email saying thankyou for entering

I went with a cheap Sapphire rx550 until hell thaws out.  Which does not make me happy as my new build was partially created for 4k editing.

I don't see how things can return to 'normal' until the manufactures can meet the combined demand of gamers, artists and miners.

I'll probably start entering various lottos hoping to hit the jackpot, but that could take awhile as I'm too cheap to pay above MSRP.

From everything I've heard, mining should start subsiding due to a different "process?" soon. Proof of something vs stake or something like that. I know nothing about mining other than I hate it because of the shortage.

Makes me really appreciate EVGA's queue system.

I haven't read up on the silicon shortage enough to comment on if this is going to continue well into the future, but I believe therein lies your answer.  It's not only graphics cards.  It's everything that uses silicon... smartphones, cars, trucks, graphics cards, televisions, you name it.  The good news is, it's not a shortage due to there not being enough silicon available- it's a shortage due to a really messed up supply and demand.  The right chain of events caused people to purchase way too much or way too little at once, and that is why we are here.  It will balance itself out I believe.  How long will it take?  I don't think I could answer that with any greater accuracy than I could tell you the price of a stock 30 days from now.  Depends on multiple, multiple factors well outside our control.

The situation is frustrating to say the least.

Personally I had planned to build in 2022, but if I see a decent priced card near MSRP in the near future, I will not hesitate to purchase it and take care of the rest of the components afterwards.

I know it's optimistic to think that they will reach MSRP soon, especially since Nvidia announced, that the shortage will last probably until 2023.

My thought is that I'll never see again the prices on which they were launched on, because much has changed in the meantime in regards to manufacturing costs and greedy retailers who know there are people who will pay either way.

Was excited for this gen and to upgrade from an old card that stopped working reliably. Kicking myself for not buying a $150 16## card that could have rode the year out, but those aren't a thing anymore either.

I am just so thankful for the EVGA Queue system. Otherwise I would not be getting one at all. No way am I paying 3x MSRP to a scalper.

I know right. It's just ridiculous how people made a business out of the shortage. I hope karma gets em back lol
