What a shame there is no starter-guide for companies like EVGA (and all others) about how to make a useful site.
A site where a search for gtx 580 would actually yield some results and a site where gtx 780 would actually be in the drop-down list of products.

Post #1 Adventures of Z7101 SLI 4-way or Snakebit City: Well, I try for a machine that'll last me a decade, and leave me with parts for the next. My GByte i7 Gen-1 will become (w/new vidcard) the A/V hub if my "all EVGA box" ever gets going: Problems so far: Now my FIRST home computer, well, I'll let you get it from my 'birthday' shows you how long I've been building, rebuilding - fine hardhacks and necessary kluges. Problem #1 w/Z-1701 - it was going to go into a Lian Li box built for E-ATX's when Pentium-4s were the hottest thing going (literally), but LL never managed to be quite on spec, and when I discovered LL has also gone Yuppie$, went to Thermaltake Urban T-81 - DON'T unless you plan a phase-change sub-box or are just showing what a good case pimp you are. Combined with the horrible 90-degree 3/3.1 internal connectors w/ultra-flex housings(compared to no-name add-on replacements) you cannot plug in the lines w/o mashing what shoulda been stick-up 20-pin sets into trash that has to be cut off the board.EVGA also failed me by failing to write a 256-pp manual, minimum for a mobo, and supplying the single 40-language-10 pp in each man on "all vidboards" instead of the 970subWhatever I ended up with. Packing to move while building sys always bad, and I lost the Z-1701 disk - after a week, they've promised me a zip of the original - still waiting. (btw) FS LL perfect blk ATX box and a PC Power&Cooling 450-watt PS built when PCP&S was PCP&S. Had to buy a new Uni.Comp kbd because round-to-USB adapters didn't work with combination.(Uni.Comps are duplicates or modded for modern sys versions of IBM keyboards when IBM made keyboards - YOU OWE YOURSELF ONE OR THREE! Anyway, anybody out there w/drivers &gradual speed-booster softs for Z-1701 bd, PLEASE send privately, w/advice. Meanwhile it's back to the try-to-build-a 7-Seagate HS drives+, Win7.1+hypervisor'ed Linux/ Digital Equipment PDP(s)-1/4/5/6/7/8/10 simulators machine dedicated to the art of 2-D/3-D graphix and cellular autonitma.Ya gamers out there, have fun - I'll never knock you, you and I just aren't on the same page though, dmr from WTP* Associates (When it's WTP*, "*TP"BU!)

I bought a Z-1710 so I'd NEVER have to put my stuff in a leaky 'Cloud' again. Death to SaaS!

Re:The ultimate starter-thread for new members 2016/07/17 10:42:32 (permalink)
I came here to check on whether someone has asked about the outputs from the card to a Samsung S29E790C monitor. I had 2 monitors hooked up before from the built in video card but I'm a little afraid to just start hooking up cables between the two and messing things up. I did all that wiring etc a long time ago, and I frankly don't remember what I did, but it did work! The video card is a EVGA GTX 960 with 2 Gb. It's the FTW edition. I wanted a 4 Gb card, but Best Buy was out of it, and Egghead was also, so I settled for the 2 Gb card. I used 2 of the outputs from the computer video card before (DVI and HDMI, I think or maybe one was a VGA) But now I'm using HDMI to HDMI for 1 big display. Any help would certainly be appreciated... I must tell everyone that I'm 75 years old and my learning curve looks like a line drawing of the ALPS! So please be gentle and understand that I might not get it on the first try!! I do ask a lot of questions... The monitor has one more unused HDMI IN and one Display Port IN. The card has 3 Display Port OUTS and 1 DVI-I out. I was looking to do an extended desktop and maybe a PIP from another computer, which Samsung says I can do.

So now I'll go back and start reading all the posts , and hopefully find something that will work for me! I do believe that I have enough horsepower in the computer, although it's only an I5-4570 processor with 12 Gb of RAM. I also changed the power supply to a 600 Watt and there are 2 DVD writers, and a 2TB hard drive. It has USB 2.0 and 3.0 and Windows 10 Home. Anything more you might need to know, just ask!

Hi folks,

this doesnt strike me as the right forum to ask this, but I cant find a better thread - whats the deal with forum avatars here?
I tried various pictures and everytime I my uploaded one in my profile with a red border. Cropping doesnt solve that. Avatar does not show up on posts. What am I doing wrong? ;)

Did you size it to 250x250 or smaller? Is it the right type of file like jpeg, etc. Did you click on "save" when done?

Hi Folks,
I'm new too. Meanwhile, having an issue with my new built PC.

EVGA GTX 1080  FTW DT,
Intel 6950x,
Gigabyte Designare EX,
Samsung 950 Pro (M.2),
64GB G.Skill Trident Z,

I assembled the PC build last night and had a quick look at the BIOS, it seemed all good. I could control the fans. SSD and HDD were visible and so on..
Today, however, I fired the PC to install Win-10. But the problem is 'DELETE' key on the keyboard doesn't take me into the BIOS at all.
All black screen which only sometimes writing "Reboot and insert your media and press any key to continue ...When I reboot from the case it is the same story again.
Having HDMI from my Graphics card to Monitor, and haven't reset the BIOS yet.
Could it be my graphic card? I have two separated 8 pins (6+2) Cables from my 1200W EVGA PSU. (The same as last night).
Also when I turn the PC on Graphics card's fans spinning for a few second and then stop working which could be for temp, though.
Do I need to flash my BIOS?
I would be grateful for any help

Is there a thread where new members can get the required 10 posts (before being allowed to send PMs) without annoying people / spamming? I assume just being a contributing member is the ideal method of getting 10 posts, but am curious if there is a spam thread.

Hey all, managed to grab a GTX 1070 FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 which arrives tomorrow! I picked up an MSI *whince* 1070 Gaming X a couple of months back and it's already off for RMA thanks to a liquid cpu cooler leak, so I'm hoping the EVGA lives up to its name. I'll see this weekend

Hello everyone,

I'm still fairly new here so I thought I would say hi.

I built my pc just over a year ago and I'm trying to save up those EVGA Bucks to snag one of those shiny new GTX 1070's. I've managed to accumulate just over 60,000,000 points with my folding at home, obviously folding for the best team out there. Anyone interested in what's in my PC can check the mod link to the left and lemme know what you think!
