EVGATech_DanielM I understand some people are upset they did not get a product at launch. This is not the end of the world. We will have more soon :)
Wow, could you have possibly given a more tone deaf response to what people were actually saying on here?
I don't have a problem with this response..it's factual. He's trying to help, not be a jerk. Your unhappiness about missing the card doesn't change that.
What would you like him to do?
1) Didn't ask if you had a problem. 2) Didn't claim he was a jerk. 3) I'm not unhappy about missing it. Any other false assumptions you would like to make? Anyways, my issue with the response was that nobody is upset about missing it per se, they are upset that they didn't get a real chance of getting one.

vgerik1234 Also of note, they it looks like they didn't receive any EVGAs it seems.
Just want to note B & H is no longer an authorized EVGA retailer/reseller so I would not expect them to have any 30 series.

Keep in mind, EVGA Employees are putting in their 8 hours and getting paid today just like any other day. Don't know why you really expect anything else from them other than the corporate line. In Daniel's defense though... there's not really much more they can say. They can't change the fact that the cards are sold out. They can't change the fact that Nvidia only supplied EVGA with ${amount} of dies to use in cards. The people you're interfacing with have no power over the situation. They're simply doing what they are paid to do, they can do any more.

There were no expectations, it was just a comment reflecting that the response had no bearing on what the real problem was that was discussed in this topic.

I believe the guy. Lots of people wanted this card.. It is what it is.. I mean I'm not going to lie I was seriously pissed off at 6AM when everything failed.. Not just on EVGA.. But when I finally got that one card through on EVGA.. Only to fail at the Payment page... I kinda was happy I got that far, and at least I had a chance.

This morning was a wild ride, went from every site showing COMING SOON, to OOS. I had a XC3 in cart but my faulty breaker went off, it wasn't meant to be. But, all in all, there are some real business realities that happen for things like this. Bottom line is, well the bottom line. I suspect being this close to the holidays it will be hard to find one throughout the next months. We all know there will be restocks, but until the remaining demand is staved off, its gonna be a long ride. And who knows, if pre-orders can't happen bots can sit around waiting looking at stocks.

I don't think you truly understand just how bad of an experience this was for a customer. It's not about not getting the product at launch. To have the product in my cart for almost an hour and having your website crash and not let me checkout is mind-blowingly infuriating. So much wasted time due to EVGA's inability to keep their website online during what they had to know would be a huge surge of traffic.

I am also a customer who wanted a 3080 but did not get a chance to get one. I have been up since 5:30 am attempting to get one myself from multiple retailers to no avail. This is one of the biggest performance jump releases in quite some time. Not getting one on the first day does not mean that we are done manufacturing them.

Would be cool if a evga mod could setup a Thread which reserved like 10 cards from each shipment to forum members who had elite status to join. The elite status user would post in said thread and that post would then act as a reserve slot. Then the mod would work his/her way through the thread until out of stock issues aren't a problem anymore. Fantasy land :)

The first batch of cards was expected to go fast and demand crashed not only EVGA's website but several other major websites as well, even Newegg. Overclockers.co.uk is still recovering.

The cards selling out so fast is not the issue. The issue is when the cards are back in stock are you going to keep them at the current price? I don't care about waiting a month or so but I do care if the price is inflated.

I think your understanding of the situation is wrong. We are upset that your website doesn't function properly. The original poster in this thread secured an item into their cart but the lack of an adequate website didn't allow them to complete the transaction. How would you feel if you had an item in your shopping cart at a store then you went to checkout at the front of the store and it just disappeared into thin air? Or perhaps another shopper grabbed it out of your cart and ran to the checkout? My guess would be you'd be rather upset, want to talk to a manager, and depending on your character, confront the individual who seized the item you had. This post is this exact situation.

Man all I see here is a lot of entitlement and impatience. Yes we all want one, but all these issues were not unexpected. I was watching multiple sites not to purchase but to see prices and specs. The Nvidia website for me was 15 minutes of still showing notify to a refresh that went straight to OOS. In the UK I was happy to see the EU store show some 3080's in stock though so I look forward to that (Even if they seem a bit overpriced compaired to others) I don't know how many were available from nvidia but between them and all the AIB's would've been the limiting factor. Overclockers here once it did recover is showing pre-orders with some not available until Oct, most common is 30th of Sept and the only one showing for the short term is the MSI ventus 3x I expect the same thing next week with the 3090 Take a deep breath and we'll soon have these beasts in our pc's

Had a very disappointing experience with the EVGA website. Constantly crashing. Finally got a card loaded into the cart and then couldn't check out. I don't understand why a better system wasn't in place other than spam F5 and hope the broken website works. Alas.

Last launch EVGA stayed the same price until after xmas and then the reference 2080ti jumped I think 50-100 bucks but then went down shortly after. Might of even been due to the trade war and part supplies?

Well it was bad launch for a lot of reasons, and for all the people who are active on theses forums it seems that almost no one was able to buy one. But hey for about 1500 to 3000 grand you can buy one off the ebay sellers who somehow managed to be able to get them and sell them. It also seems so far about 11 evga cards were sold on ebay this morning and not sure how many forum subscribers got one. This was handled horribly for lots of reason the captcha not being there thou not sure if this would have even made a difference, the constant crashing when trying to complete check out of cart. But Hey at the end of the day we can all go to Ebay buy one for what ever amount if you have to have it today.

Why are people mad at EVGA for how Nvidia allows partners to release their cards? Its not the Partners who decide this, its Nvidia. And i dont think a single server on the internet can stay up after the traffic that happend when when the cards released.

I disagree. If you were in a physical store and had an item in your shopping cart walking to checkout and another customer seized it out of your cart and bought it and you were left with nothing, would you not be wronged? That is not a sense of entitlement. Just because something is online does not make it any different than in person.

I'm more mad at the inability to just put in a damn order and wait for my slot to be ready. This absolute and abject garbage of having to refresh all damn day for months is the ridiculous aspect of the whole thing. Just let me order one. I'm content to wait. A friend of mine managed to order from the EU store once the stock was there about two hours after launch, I just managed to see the paypal button and had to triple check - you're calculating 25% VAT for Austria ... which is wrong - should be 20%. It was already too late once I decided to still go for it. Hope I'll make it next time ^^.

The fact of the matter is, just like every other web store that crashed, they do not have the surge capacity. This happens every launch cycle because it does not make business sense to keep 30 times your normal traffic volume as idle capacity except for one or two days a year. Bandwidth cost money folks. There's no comparison to in person retail when you actually physically holding a product inline for purchase. The analog would be waiting in a long line of hundred people when only 5 are available. If you were not there (or nearly the first in line) you should have expected to be SOL. It is a matter of luck. I did not even bother.

I got through on a step-up, but the pages loads were long, and even timed-out a couple times. I could have returned my 2070s but i decided I would try the step-up. Ive always bought EVGA but 1st time trying this, been pretty nervous about what cards they would offer in the program. Personally Im overjoyed the FTW was on there. I have no idea if I will get my card anytime soon but so far, this has turned out great.

Ya at this point the cards are out.. Put us in a que... If i'm number 1500 hundred in Feburay 2021.. At least I know I'm getting it. We should not have to hang around these sites to get a card. Let us order them, and back order it. Its not asking much.. If the demand is so high, then its time to change the way things are done.

HeavyHemi The fact of the matter is, just like every other web store that crashed, they do not have the surge capacity. I did not even bother.
this is the case.

I'm sure they do but the cost, as stated, doesn't not necessitate 365 days a year on the bandwidth costs. Releases are normally once or twice a year per product line. If newegg had problems, it's pretty typical. Everyone will get one, some will have to wait.
