It's nice to see the different styles and functionality of keyboards in one article.

I'd always purchased/preferred Logitech keyboards until I switched to Corsair, the feel and function of the mechanical switches in my Strafe just feel/perform better IMO.

I can vouch for both the Corsair K70  & the K68  , very sturdy and great response feel to them.

I also briefly had the G910  - it was a bit to soft of a response for me to get used to...

For me I am very happy with the Z10 I got on sale last fall. The functions I care about are on the keyboard and it really wasn’t that bad for the sale prices. RGB would be nice but wouldn’t be $50 more nice. If your in the market for a keyboard I do recommend the z10 if you can find it on sale.

One thing to keep in mind when picking out a quality keyboard is often you can get a sample of like the Cherry keys from places like Amazon for pretty cheap. It lets you see what key you like the feel of since different people will like the feel of different keystrokes. I myself like the really clicky sound of the blue switches while others might like the silent and low force of the black or red switches.

It’s worth checking out to see before dropping $129 or more on a keyboard.

I have seen a few key cap testers on Amazon and it’s really worth the money to know what you will like. Most are based on the Cherry switches or the keyboard will mention the Cherry switch it’s closest to.

The Glorious GMMK full size [link] outclasses anything on that list. Fully (and easily) customizable switches and caps and lighting. Someone on these forums EVGATech_AdamB put me onto this board, and it's awesome. I use the Gateron Brown switches, which have a quite similar feel to the Cherry MX Brown switches and also the Razor Orange switches on the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth 2014 Edition which I had previously.

edit: Here's some useful info for those looking at switches:

I got logitech g910. The one with the more normalised keys, as far as mechanical keyboards go it has a quieter sound than most when pressing keys.
Very comfortable, has extra buttons (macro G keys) which are not as many or as easy to find as the an old logitech g15 version but its not super hard either.
I like the romer key feel and as with pretty much all logitech products they seem to last quite a while for me (unlike certain other brands).

Overall i find g910 to be the best if not one of the best gaming keyboards. If i didnt go for the g910 i would have probably went for the corsair (k95?), but cant remember why though.

It depends on your taste tbh, people generally say linear switches are the best for gaming and one of the quickest linear switches are the cherry mx speed so any keyboard with mx speed will suffice, you can also build your own keyboard from scratch with everything matching your preferences, another thing to have in mind is macros, maybe you are the type of guy who needs a bunch of macro keys so that will change the recommendation, though there are a few good quality gaming keyboards in less price here  .

Overall I just cannot say what is the best keyboard for gaming as my tastes are different to yours, for example, i like clicky switches and I love the clickbar kill switches, I use 60%keyboards for the space they give me to use my mouse but i know many people who would never use a 60%.

anyway hard question, without knowing your actual preferences.

Yeah, Corsair products are top notch, very good quality overall and the look is good too. I've got myself a CORSAIR K68 RGB I read about on an article here  and it was the best choice IMO for the money I spent. What I love about it is also it being waterproof, because I've spilled some beer on my old keyboard, and ruining an expensive keyboard like that is a waste lol.

Gonna speak up and say the ZALMAN ZM-900M should be on the list. Great keyboard, that doesn't require any proprietary software to be loaded onto your PC; which became a huge PITA with my RAZER BlackWidow.

I have the K95 RGB for quite a few years now.  Granted it was a RMA from their original K95 (Non-RGB) but they are truly solid keyboards I must say.  Unless they change them to hideous designs and lower QCs, I'm sold on these keyboards and mice.  I do like their cases as well but that's a whole other topic.

I stand by the Ducky One 2SF, TKL and Mini.  Also have a love of CoolerMaster's boards - MasterKeys Pro S and Pro M.  Also can recommend DurGod, Glorious, and the MassDrop (Drop) boards.
