omg what is all this.  How to buy a z690 dark kingpin?  Yes, I've read all skimmed most of the posts.  Yes, I'm a registered elite member (as of 30 min ago when I dug out an EVGA power supply from my closet for the purpose registering it, to get an elite member login in hopes of buying this mobo).  No, I have no idea what points are. No, i'm not an associate. (do i need to wash dishes to buy this thing?) Yes, I own 3 oscilloscopes. Does that matter?

And what is the spreadsheet at the top of this post?  How do I get on that?  Happy to wait.  Happy to be notified its EOL. Happy to pay.  But currently that status is unknown to me after 1-2 hours of clicking... and I have a pretty limber clicking finger.  Anyway, how do I find out if its discontinued or where is my spot in the list everyone on this thread seems so aware of?

I dont have an auto-notify link on the product page.  Is this part available?  If not, why does every single reviewer online cover it? But judging by the spreadsheet at the top of this thread they've only sold like 15?  Is this for real?  What are you guys doing?  Other than treading thin ice with BBB etc?

Either make the price $20-50K or dont sell it (giveaway contest?)... this feels like a communist breadline mixed with a MLM marketing scheme... ... the "onboarding experience" for a long time buyer, first-time breadliner is pretty brutal ... ... ... But what a motherboard!

Any tutorial on where to click to insert my money would be very helpful...

Lmao well put.

ATM there is no way to buy one without having already been added to the queue through the notify button. The notify button was only up for two days in February and hasn't been up since.

So basically, if you didn't get in the queue in February, God knows how long it may be until they open it back up.

Short answer, you can’t. No notify button = queue closed.
The spreadsheet at the top is keeping track of those of us that did get in the queue at launch (mid feb) and who has now received their notification to buy.
Queue has been closed for ages, you’re way too late to the game.
EVGA points is how EVGA determines who gets priority within the queue. You can read about it on EVGA site, and you should if you plan to get any of the « rarer » items in the future.

To add to this, the spreadsheet is just the people who posted on the forums about their notification time-stamp and then came back and said whether they got it or not. The person who posted the spreadsheet (Which I've done for other releases) does not work for EVGA. We just help each other get some idea where things are at by posting here. It isn't perfect and it isn't anywhere near complete. We have no insider info. We just have whatever people post on these forums. So it is completely community-ran (can't hold EVGA accountable for our reports lol).

Otherwise, other people here have answered the big question you had in that there is currently no way to sign up for the queue for this board. Since I've been tracking all the motherboard launches since z590 series, I can tell you that this is pretty common that the auto-notify button goes away until they catch up with the initial demand. Once that happens, they'll make the button go live again or just put them in stock when they have them and you'll have to be the lucky one to check the site that hour when there's a green "add to cart" button. Generally, they post on the @TEAMEVGA twitter account and Jacob posts at @EVGA_JacobF when things go in stock. If you set up notifications for those two accounts, you might get the fastest possible heads up that it has gone live again.

Thanks for the replies.  That clears it up.  I guess I'll assume the product is "sold out" and move on.  Perhaps EVGA could label the product as such?  And in the future, online reviewers (AnandTech, Tom's, GN, etc) should not be reviewing a part that ships more review units than retail units.  my $0.02.

Did you actually read what various members wrote about the queues, and are you aware that supply has been a world-wide issue for the last 2+ years, or is this just some passive aggressive whiny foot-stomping thing because you can't get what you want right now? Sorry to be so harsh - I'm having to deal with my 10 year old kid pulling similar such bs right now (as in, right now), and man, I have zero tolerance for it atm.

I don't think anyone has reviewed this product other than those who got one off the queue or test them in preproduction. Haven't seen a single large publication or YouTuber review it.

I could go on.  GN did a 30min vid with over 250K views on it.  Jay 2cents similar.  and on and on.  I stand by the fact that more reviewers got the part than were sold retail since the spreadsheet shows 26 units units have sold on this thread and I dont know how many of those 26 are to reviewers or EVGA employees/associates.

I would characterize my post as "snark" but I think your characterization is accurate also.  To clarify, what I wanted/expected "right now" was to be told if the part was available with a wait or sold out or only available to large media outlets like the ones listed above.  I'm clearly annoyed that the product has gotten a lot of media hype and only 26 units are available.  I'm disappointed in EVGA for their marketing/sales on this part's release, not at all disappointed in EVGA's tech quality.  Seems you're annoyed that I'm annoyed?  ok.

Neither jay nor gn did any showcase or review on the board. Jay had the classified...I genuinely can not find a single review of the Dark KP anywhere beyond what I said: Those who had pre-releaae boards (like lummi and other overclockers) and those who actually got the part off the queue.

Toms, tweaktown, wherever large media there is doesn't have a single review. They just have press releases from February....

GN did a 30min segment on it in one of their "Tech News" videos.  It was one of multiple topics covered tho not in the title.  I would post the link if I could.

I stand corrected on Jayz2cents.  You are correct, he had the classified.

Here is the title of the Tom's hardware article since I can't post the link:

EVGA Z690 Dark Kingpin Delivers Flagship Specs With $829 Price Tag
published February 18, 2022$829 is still a lot of money for a Z690 motherboard." If you disagree that this part has gotten a ton of media coverage, then let's agree to disagree.  I think it has, otherwise a first time, non-elite poster like me wouldn't be here on page 11 of this thread figuring out how to get on the waitlist.

Again, thanks for the helpful replies from earlier.  The part is sold out and out of stock and there is no waitlist available.  It took me 2 hours of signing up for stuff and clicking and posting to find that out.  I still think that is a very sub-optimal experience for "the masses" of non-evga associates and press outlets to go through just to find out if they can even get on a waitlist.  this experience is likely to turn a lot of people off to "elite membership".  Certainly it has turned me off.

And if the manner in which I expressed my customer dissatisfaction is off-putting to some of you, I apologize for that.  I mean no offense, I'm trying to express my annoyance with some levity and wit so its not so unpleasant.  Seems some of the other members picked up on that, to the rest: apologies.  It's just my opinion.

That is a press release. Not a formal review or anything. Toms doesn't have the board for that, that is just what evga sent out to all media when they released the board, same as any other press release for a product.

I'm not offended or anything. Was merely stating that the only coverage of this board was through press releases or from those who got it in the queue/pre-production, in response to your claim that all these publications were sent the board and release reviews, which hasn't happened. I can understand the frustration of availability, but it is what it is.

Gotcha.  Yeah, I was referring to media coverage when I mentioned "reviewers", I can see how it come across that I was disappointed that there are a lot of reviews vs press releases.  I'm not.  The issue, for me, is the announcement of its availability and price.  It is neither available, nor $800ish dollars like the widespread marketing of it led me to believe.

I was sent to the EVGA website, then to my closet to grab an EVGA box, to get a serial number, to check if I was elite or not, then back and forth from my text and email clicking on things, then to the product page which listed $830 and "limited to one per house", then to customer service (which was closed), then to page one through ten of this thread, by the full technical breakdown/announcement/press release by anandtech  which said quote:

"The EVGA Z690 Dark K|NGP|N Edition is currently available to purchase at the EVGA Website for $830. However, at the time of writing, purchases are limited to one per household, and it seems as though it's only available to <link> EVGA Elite Members at this time."

Again, a lot of clicking for a part that annadtech should have told me "only 26 are available so no one is getting one", and saved me 1-2 hours of clicking despite the aforementioned limberness in my clicking finger.

Or, my preferred solution, EVGA offer a price that reflects demand vs supply given the current chip shortage and the amount of press this part received.  Its a halo product right?  This is common in most industries and perhaps not entirely new to pc parts.  I think the part should be fairly valued in the 10's of thousands of dollars OR simply given away.  I think $800 is an absolute bargain for this part given current conditions.

Anyway, kudos to EVGA for the mobo and congrats to those of you fortunate enough to get one

Already been stated - the 26 individuals listed on this thread represent a very small percentage of what went out in reality, and those 26 are purely the handful of people who also happen to be active members of this forum, and also happen to have seen this thread, and also bothered to make an effort to post in this thread - a subset of a subset of a subset of a subset. Despite several people posting on this thread to let you know this, you insist on repeating your claims that are clearly incorrect (I'd say misinformed, but that is no longer the case). If nothing else, apply a little logic - no business would go to the expense of designing, manufacturing, and offering for sale a motherboard like this and only make 26 of them. Not sure what else to tell you - you came here looking for some answers to your questions, were given some answers, and promptly proceeded to ignore them, so.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  . At this point, probably the best thing to do is assume the motherboard never existed and assume the 26 people who posted here are all just 1 individual whose sole purpose in life is to mislead you. Having established this belief, you can hopefully then move on and enjoy your life without the motherboard because, in your reality, it never existed. Cheers! ;)

I actually wish the reviewers had a chance to review the board, regardless if it's readily available.  We're talking about the halo product of halo products.  I'll watch a car review for a McLaren P1 even though I'll never get it and even most people with the money and the desire weren't able to get one.  It doesn't make it any less fascinating to me to see what they can do.  In my case, I picked up the board from a friend who was going to pass on his, so I lucked out.  Would be nice to see what the pros think of it too.

no doubt, he's been so helpful in my dabbling in to LN2. explains and shows everything so well. makes it easy to understand, and his suggestions for XOC bios settings and voltages have been very successful in my experience.

Thanks, I've seen Luumi's stuff, which is great, but I like the structured approach that the big dogs do. Or. Buildzoid rambling and ranting about things lol

Cheers! ;)

I've never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed.  I'm a random customer researching a new PC build, I read a bunch of press about this mobo and wanted to determine if it was available, if not - was there a waitlist, if so - how to get on the waitlist, and what kind of wait to expect (length and chances).

I certainly have no interest in misinforming myself.  I've now spent days trying to answer the following questions.  I had thought I had my questions answered by a couple days ago by helpful members on this thread but Captn Goodvibes says I've misinformed myself by ignoring their comments.  For EXTREME joyless clarity, here are my questions.

Captn Goodvibes, If you can provide answers, I will do my level best to not misinform myself nor anyone else:

Question 1: Is this part available?  Answer I received from this board: "no".
Question 2: Will this part ever become available?  Answer I received from this board: "no, or at least no announcement of restock.  unlikely.  Dont hold breath".

If I got either of those wrong, I'd appreciate your clarification, Captain Goodvibes.  The questions below are much less relevant assuming I got question 1 and 2 above correct.  But if either question 1 or question 2 is incorrect or becomes incorrect in the future the below questions would become relevant:

Question 3: Is there a waitlist? Answer: "There was.  It is over now though."
Question 4: How to get on the waitlist? Answer: "1. Be an elite member.  2. If you are an elite member, for a few hours after release (or days?), The product page would have an "auto-notify" link which it no longer has. 3 Click the Auto-notify link to be added to the waitlist.  EVGA would email you if your spot in the waitlist was reached."

Maybe the question below is where I've misinformed myself?  Let me know if so.
Question 5: How long is the waitlist? How many people who got on the waitlist got the chance to buy the product?
Answer: "See the spreadsheet at the top of this thread.  No other information is known to the members of this board/thread regarding any internal waitlist not listed at the top of this thread. Nobody knows how many EVGA sold beyond what we can see on the spreadsheet, which at the time of this writing shows 26 sold and many more on that waitlist who did not get one.  Spots 27 and below, must have been elite members and must have clicked the auto-notify link since that is how you get on the waitlist right?" (Again - I'll appreciate any clarification here if I got this wrong)

Thanks for your patience.  Again, I mean no offense.  I'm a random dude trying to build a PC.  I usually enjoy the research and picking parts etc but, in my opinion, the experience of trying to understand the availability of this part has been sub-optimal.

Instead of complaining with no proposed solutions, I've offered the following solutions to make this experience better for dolts like me in the future.  These are just my idiotic opinions... what else can I do with my elite membership?
1. Price the part like a mcLaren.  i.e. 10x-100x more than a typical high-end mobo.  That way, everyone who can afford one or is willing to pay more than new car for a mobo can get one.  And that extra margin goes to EVGA to increase production and R&D etc in the future rather than to scalpers who will then increase their scalping in the future.
2. Simply say the product is sold out on the product page when the part becomes sold out.  That way, idiots like me wouldn't have to go through the Elite member sign up process and walk over 11 pages of hot coals on this forum just to determine availability.
3. Give the part away in a contest of EVGA's choosing.

Again, Kudos to EVGA on the mobo and congrats to those of you who were able to purchase one!

1. Part is available when those on the wait-list are notified that it is their turn to purchase.
2. No one here knows if the product will be available without the notify list.
3. Yes, it was open for 2 days then closed.
4. You just had to add yourself to the wait-list (by hitting the notify button) within those 2 days. You did not need to be an elite member, only for the first day did you need to be.
5. No one knows how long the wait-list is. The spreadsheet here is just those who actually posted in this, or other, threads saying they got on it. The queue 3.0 system determines in what order the boards go out from the wait-list. This spreadsheet can somewhat gauge when someone may be close to getting notified that theirs is available (based on EVGA score and when they signed up for notification)

That's it.

Not sure why you equate low availability with high price, both don't need to exist. You are adding your own lore and hype to the product and creating this fascination about it, making you upset at why it's not readily available, all because it's monetarily attainable for you.

Very helpful.  Thanks!.  Now I'm curious about this "The queue 3.0 system".  I'll google it.

And I do see what I got wrong.  Many more than 26 were sold total of course.  I guess I was silently taking the ratio of 26 to some number much larger than 35 (length of this thread's spreadsheet) as an estimate of the "availability"... aka I estimated the "chances" of getting one (assuming auto notify clicked in the first 48hrs) as 26 divided by some large number taking this thread's spreadsheet as a"sub-sample" of general market.  Plus some bias given those on this thread are probably likely to be more aware of release dates, more experience with the process, higher EVGA scores etc.

I made the mistake of saying in a previous post that Anandtech should have told me quote "there are only 26 available so nobody is getting one".  That was not really to be taken literally. (bad joke) I get that more than 26 were sold.  In previous posts, I'm taking it for granted that no one knows how many were sold total, but in the context of this thread its 26.  Anyway, I get it I think.  Thanks again.

Don't expect much clarity on the Queue from that link, short of it, there's a queue for some items, time you enter the queue supposedly doesn't have as much as an effect on the order, but it has some order based on your score which is dependent on a few different factors.  How that score is calculated or used isn't fully transparent.

It seems deliveries have somewhat ground to a halt… Jeauxy’s purchase was now 4 weeks ago, and with his massive 12 points was the last person in our illustrious list with more than my 8.
Of course we don’t know about ppl outside this subset, but it does feel like quite a while now.
Starting to lose hope a little..
On the plus side I did a lot of work with my good Apex already, subbed G7400 and 12300 quite well despite the immense challenges of ddr5 and bclk OC on the Apex in general, looking at the rankings I’m doing slightly better than most with comparable cooling so far.
If this elusive Dark does indeed appear I’ll sell the Apex on very fast and well I’m sure, and try and squeeze out some better results with the dark.. it’s a nice plan, hope EVGA allows me to actually do it :/
