CD Projekt has released its financial results for H1 2019, revealing that the CD PROJEKT Capital Group posted 214.4 million PLN in sales revenues and 51.7 million PLN in net profit for the first half of 2019. In their report, CD Projekt's CFO, Piotr Nielubowicz, stated that the company financials were influenced by strong sales of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, confirming that the game has sold more copies in the first half of 2019 than it did during the same period last year. This has helped to cement CD Projekt's opinion that "top-quality games pays off".

2019 is likely to continue to see strong sales for The Witcher 3, especially as the game moves to Nintendo's Switch console in mid-October.

I'm both hopeful and apprehesive, that they might become so successful that they become a big gaming company... and possibly starting acting like one.

They already did with Witcher 3. It was a massive visual downgrade a long with game mechanics and design. The difference between the 2nd game and the 3rd game is depressing. It was a game designed for console gamers which is why it's popular though. You roll around like a bell-end fighting horrible AI and are given psudeo choices that don't matter. Also crafting, but significantly less than the 2nd game. The stuff they've shown with CyberPunk 2077 just continues the trend of pozzed game design and trying to appease non gamers to lure in everyone while trying not to offend anyone. I use to be one of their biggest fans, but I don't even care about their games any longer. The magic is gone. They are another AAA publisher doing the same as EA and the others out there. When Witcher 3 launched for example they cut out a bunch of content then hilariously marketed it like it was some sort of free gift to owners. Meanwhile it was done specifically to generate weeks worth of advertising by dripping out "patches" during the crucial first weeks of launch.

I would say that about Bioware and Bethesda. CD Projekt Red not so much. When they start doing micro transactions, charging for parts of the game that were originally supposed to be there and not giving it to us for free. Then yes your statement will be true. As of right now that is not the case, nor do they have a company like EA, Activision, Zenimax, Ubisoft with their claws deep int them. I would be more worried about Obsidian and how long Microsoft will stay out of their studio production pipeline than CD Projekt Red.

It’s a game that is easy to recommend and seeing it work the expansions for just $15 makes it an easy Steam buy.

Not just that the value of what you are getting entertainment wise. They upped the bar and changed the single player RPG forever showing the consumer it is possible to make everything interesting in terms of quest even the side quest feel important that you even care about.

True that ! ...the sheer variety and interesting things to do that are not just copy/pastes , like so many other games
...and the fact you could just ride along through the countryside doing no missions at all and be amazed at the details put into the world.

Replayability is excellent with this one as well.  You can play quite a few times with different outcomes...depending on the choices you make.  Well worth it!

Yeah there are a ton and there is little stuff that you do here and there that controls the ending, also affects the blood and whine DLC ending and how that plays out when you are at your house.

Witcher 3 doesn't look bad. Seriously I think some people are just looking for something to be pissed off about. The game looks great and has excellent gameplay. If you guys are so shallow that you seriously can't get past a games visual fidelity, then you don't deserve to see the subtle beauty this game has to offer.
