This is a true story and right now i expect amazon for a refund , rarely i buy items from amazon warehouse deals and on black friday i ordered an evga 2080 xc ultra from amazon. waited till today in which a package came inside there was the rtx 2080 box with an 780 gpu old and dusty . i immediately contacted amazon and they told me to send this thing back for proper refund ,unfortunately the amount  to be returned is not enough for a 2080.  i was with high expectation and ended with thin air. I attach an image of the horror received, the box was highly stressed as the one which did this pushed with force the 780 to fit in there .

    Was it through a third party seller on Amazon?

    through amazon warehouse deals europe . i believe that the person which purchased this first send back to them an 780 in the box and they didnt inspect the content ,this is the second time that something like this occured with an i5 570 cpu instead of an 8600k....

    this is quite irrevelant to me as i wont be able to afford a 2080 at the same price ,i will get 600e refund while the cheapest 2080 is 780 and it is not on same leaques as evga....

    So I read this ariticle on how Amazon handles their inventory and it made me stop buying just about anything expensive on Amazon. Amazon uses mostly all robots to get the item from the rack to the shipping department. Most of the time the item you bought won't be seen by a real person. Amazon also sort items based on upc. All of the items having the same upc goes into 1 bin, including third party sellers items. According to Amazon, in order to cut down the shipping time on items they will pull the item from the warehouse closest to you. So if a 3rd party seller say put 100 fake 2080s in Amazon's warehouse thro the fur filled by Amazon inventory. And you bought a 2080, just happens the warehouse closest to you is the one with the fake 2080s. Even if you bought it as sold by Amazon. You might get a fake one.

    Nope they wont ,they will refund me the money paid on black friday and i will be waiting for another year to be able to take a gamble...
