I still have my first surround sound speakers (Creative P5500) I bought when I purchased my first soundblaster live 24bit card. The sub puts out 100w and the 5 satellites are acceptable for my use. I have a dedicated system for parties and outdoor events it's not intended for home theater but for studios or clubs. I have four 2000w behringer loudspeakers about 5 x 3 x 2 feet in dimension. Each speaker box has 2 subs a midrange tweeter and 3 treble tweeters. I have a a behringer ultragraph 2 channel 64 band EQ, a numark dual cd changer with interface module with jog wheel. A gemini 8 channel mixer, and effects rack. and lastly a pyle pro 4000w amp with 4 channel outputs. I usually route audio to it via a macbook pro running traktor scratch.

I moved my 5.0 setup to the living room in my new place but for that i have a Denon AVR-1910 using a polk audio CS2 for center and polk audio monitor 40's for front's and rear's.

In my bedroom now with my PC setup i have an M-Audio AV40 for main listening and  FiiO e7/e9 DAC/amp combo with a pair of sennheiser HD595's for late night gaming/music enjoyment.

(note  my desk isn't that bad now, i had just setup stuff, i've since done a bunch of cable management etc)

i remember when you got those polks i was jelouse :( i sitll never got around to doing somehting like that.

you like high end headephones, you should grab a listen on a set of AKG k550's ":D I just picked up a pair and they are an amazing set of headphones.

on my computer i have a JVC 5.1 to my media center and the z5500 logitech. my headphones will run off a FIIO E7 and my coirsair vengence are just USB and run as thier own hub. i run an optic reciever off a seperate sound card, but i run my 5500 on the onboard. and than i run the TV's audio when im watching netflix because it doenst always come in suround sound so its not worth the 5.1. so i'll use the video cards audio.

my build
CPU - AMD 3900x
Ram -  Gskill neo ddr4 3600
Case - Cooler Master Cosmos II
monitors - XG32VQ asus 32" and 28" Samsung side
Hard drive - gigabyte aorus nvme gen4
Video cards - 5700xt
Motherboard - asus x570 hero
Power supply - evga 1000w platnum

I am running some vintage gear, well from the 70's and 80's anyway.
It's a 2 channel system, i only have a few pics of the amps and speakers right now but there are many great pics and info on the net.

My setup:
Carver C-19 Vacuum tube Reference Preamp.
http://www.carveraudio.com/index.php/preamps/c-19

Carver Silver 7t monoblock amps. (overkill but i wont be short on headroom).
These went to carver's shop (Sunfire) a few years ago for new caps and calibration.
http://www.carveraudio.com/index.php/amplifiers/silver-seven-t

JVC QL-Y5F direct drive turntable (rosewood veneer) i don't use it now but i may get the vinyl out of storage at some point.
http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=366060

Sony DVP-NC685V 5 disc DVD/CD player.

Altec 604-8G studio monitors currently not in use.
I don't have the cabinets anymore just the bare drivers, i may pony up the bucks someday and have new cabinets made, they are awesome and very efficient speakers.
http://www.technicalaudio.com/pdf/Duplex_Speakers_related_to_Altec_604/604_1974_608-8G_Duplex_Speaker.pdf

Mine were like this guy's, He saved them from being tossed into the landfill and brought them back to life, a very smart move if you have the space.

Speakers i listen to now:
Altec Model 19 Studio monitors, i restored the wood cabinets and rebuilt the crossovers a few years back.
These were made in the USA around 1977 before Altec stopped the home audio business and sold the Altec name, Altec professional sound continued on for quite a few years.
If you ever get a chance to listen to a pair of these or other vintage Altec large format speakers Do not pass it up.
The old USA Altec name is dead but the designs and the great sound quality live on, and still made in the USA:

@justinhemi - I've heard the epiks have lots of mid bass.  How well do they handle everything else?

I just thought I would revive this thread.  Has anyone gotten any new gear lately? I picked up a new sub a little while back.  Long story short, I got it for free.  I'll write up the story soon with pics.  Anyway, I got the Simply Sound Audio Rumba 12.  This thing is stinkin sweet.  It is a single 12" sealed sub that weighs 75lbs.  It's a beast.  It is a subsonic subwoofer which means that it will play down into the teens with plenty of volume to be not only heard, but felt.  Movies are absolutely incredible with this thing.  Especially movies like Tron and LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring, and Return of the King.

HT Omega Claro Halo is my soundcard, currently using PC 360 headset as my main way of listening, speakers are logitech z623, nothing really high end there, but I guess it depends on what funds you have and your priorities with it and all.
