You guys named most of the epics. There are a bunch of good ones that can be added too. Baccano, DearS, Fate Stay Night, Vandread, Trigun, FMA, ShangriLa, Desert Punk, Inuyasha, Gurren Lagan, Eureka Seven and Bamboo Blade.
 
Summer Wars is being shown with an english dub. That could be interesting.

Like "Brcomer" said godbless Netflix. There instant view section has allowed me to find a lot of good series I otherwise would miss out on.

Zim is awesome!!!! , but (not to start a battle) its a cartoon not Anime.

The Anime Thread! - What do you watch, have watched, or will be watching?

 
Everything released since about 2000, even the crappy stuff. It's better than watching tv in the US.

Man, I wish there was some way I could show you guys everything I have ever watched in the Anime genre.  You all would be in disbelief at how much stuff that is.  I'm talking nearly every piece of Anime from the end of WWII to present.  I could make most any Otaku blush.  My family thinks I'm nuts because I've watched so much Anime.  I will say that I have pretty much avoided Hentai though.  Except the major ones.

I used to love anime, but one day I just felt like a vast majority of anime is substandard moeblobs recycling the same personality archetypes just totally put me off.
 
I do like me some of that slice of life anime though, and Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru~

Currently watching Cowboy Bebop for the first time.  It is awesome.  Don't let the name put you off, it is really good, so good someone should rename it Firefly or serenity.  (this was the source material)
 
Witchblade is awesome too, it is even on Blu-ray and looks great!
Blue Dragon -- anime spin off of the xbox 360 game.  It is actually really good, my kids love it and I got hooked as well.  I even have a Blue dragon on my desk right now.
