Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick voiced his support for single-player experiences as anchors for player engagement with all aspects of a game - including its multiplayer components, or paving the way for online-only efforts such as GTA Online, the most lucrative title ever in the history of entertainment. I guess I must be one of the few people who like single player games and I hope this trend can continue

    SP preferred for me , overall.   
    MP has become such a cesspool of hackers/ spammers, etc,...

    Rockstar essentially ignored the single player of the game to sell funny money and create nothing but online content for GTA5. I wouldn't take that guy's words seriously. As for his predictions he's also dead wrong with games like Fortnite largely being completely ignored when it had a single player element and blowing up when it went full force into multiplayer flavor of the month gameplay.

    I like single player more then multiplayer nowadays. Of course I play some games for the multiplayer but I am unlikely to really play the multiplayer on a lot of games. I feel every game has to tack on multiplayer but few donut to the level that really makes me want to play it and there is nothing worse then an empty sever like a month or two after a new game comes out because everyone rushed off to play the new Battlefield or Call of Duty release.

    I prefer SP but still play MP like BF4. Definitely need both.

    most first person shooters are single player, later co-op made sense for unit based military ops
