Is this a POST error? Is your CPU/motherboard RAM stock? I also recommend updating your motherboard BIOS to the latest version available.

Alan

yes, all stock , and fresh install. looks like the computer wasent saving setting maybe because of win update but not 100 % sure. took some time to find the related trouble with driver

bios up to date.

it was a post error, saying cpu error fan, and 1 long bip, 3 short so video issue.  there was not a bsod, just a motherboard post saying oc failed press F1 for bios setting

What motherboard? You posted this in the Graphics Card forum, and it is a motherboard issue, so we can move this to the correct forum as it may help someone else later.

hum not sure if its motherboard related.. right now i just got a EVGA sli bridge the 100. 4 slot. and it did the same. as soon i reboot it give me cpu fan error and error bip like if there was a problem with cards. i enter in the bios. ignore the pump of the aio cooler and save setting as normal. and it boot up . but as soon i touch the hardware sli or video card. Can you give me an advise on how to test properly or to be 100 % sure im fine. like the power is new, its a 850 evga. those card almost new. 1of them is new. the bridge is new, motherboard like new, same for cpu and the rest..

In this thread, you haven’t even mentioned what graphics card is in your case, just that the motherboard keeps giving errors. You should check for a bent pin in the socket. Until you can answer the question, I will move this to general hardware, as this seems 100% motherboard related. It seems every time you change anything on the motherboard, it throws an error.

What is strange is that your graphics card related question is in the general software forum.

Once you let us know what motherboard you have, we may be able to move this to a better location. For now, it will stay in the general hardware section to help figure out why when you change anything your cpu throws errors.

Alright so i did remove both card, the sli bridge evga and both gtx970ssc. i did look again in manual for power suply connector configuration. looked for bend pines. looked for anything anormal.  Just to give a try i switched card i took the 1 and put on 2 and 2 on 1. set back everything on and computer fire up no beep nothing.
Il continue investigating if it occur again

the long beep and 3 single beep + cpu fan problem that give me sometimes its not all the time like i said. maybe its related to the card or bridge. because it neved did that beforei have another gtx1060 3gb and i got also a r9270x2 that i tried the other day just for benchmark purpose. i never had this before . Like you said maybe the matériels or one of the card wasent well clipped to the board but i really doubt. i always make 100 % sure its inserted properly.

Thanks for help

If this happens after having the power removed from the PSU check your cmos battery

What are you using for a PSU and how old is it?

Well il take a look at the battery. because it did again … its kinda annoying, and looks like everytime i remove wire from power suply , i mean everytimes i switch to off the psu and remove the cord before doing service to the computer.

the power suply is brand new. its a 850 bronze.
i did triple check everythning, different configuration of the fan, etc. no bent pines nothing. so il try the battery.
thanks for those tips and your time

That first reboot after the battery swap will give you the warning so you might try a full power down with plug removed and then power it all back up to get a good test.

well i removed the cord from the psu. took a shower etc . i just plug it back, fired it up and no problem.  i didnt touch the sli bridge still.

is there a way to be 100 % this was the problem or ? the battery i took on the asus p6t deluxe was the same battery same brand exatly same code.

also tell me if im wrong but it would make sense, if the battery is not working properly the computer will not save the update and stuff like that so each reboot it will be hard ?
and does a good batterry change the boot speed or something i can look like i say before to be 100 % sure ? i mean when the problem occur and i did ignore the fan speed or did an adjustement in bios its not saved.. once i power it and shut down, reboot, its fine. another thing this morning it did trow code 40. witch is suppose to be a cold start but google search and easy fix option in windows. so still if you can tell me if there is a common btween the battery and what im tryng to explain

It's a very common problem for a BIOS battery to eventually go and cause issues. They are just a simple 3v coin battery and they last from three to five years on average. When they go, your computer does not save the BIOS settings when you completely remove power from the system. As it now works correctly, you have solved that issue. The battery is not going to cause any other issues. All it does is supply voltage to the BIOS when you remove power from the system to save settings.  It either works, or it does not.

sorry for late reply i just arrived home and a little ( im working so much since maybe 7 months doing over 14-16 hours a day> and i dont spend much time with my twins, this computer project make me having some good times with the kids, not a lot but anyway ) and i turned computer on and it fired up without any issue., im very happy with your help guys , and i will try to do the same with other people here as much i can haha.
there only 1 last small thing i can see is everytime the computer arrive after the republic of gamer logo once it pass bios and all. there is a blue screen that appear realquick and dissapear and then it ask me for a password. i know all my pâssword and have acces to email and phone etc so no problem. but looks like it interfere somehow. even if i switch used like if i dont use admin account, windows is asking me again to identify the computer. il take another look right now. but the quick bluescreen i cant find nothing about it.

Well guys i wish you all happy new years day.

Hello all again !! i hope you guys had great holidays ( if you had some haha ) and are well rested.

Well our little trick seem to have work but like right now i just wake up and i started it and it did it.
- I pressed F1 to setup bios and just saved and save and exit. Did it again 1 short beep 3 long beep but the fan was keep on ignore monitor i didnt get the fan error.

-I press again F1 to setup and i took my time to double check for fan cpu ignore and also i set 1 fan so advance because 3 pin connector . saved and Exit.
Boot on. Since last time we talk and tryng to find out what going on it did it maybe 2-3 times not more. I got like 3 battery remplacement, 1 is lithium ion energizer 2032 3 volt.
and i got 2 more is energizer but not lithium but same code 2032 and 3 volt.
Right now this is the lithium ion one that is installed and i had to push to make it enter a bit
Il just try out the standard one no lithium and see if there a diference.
i did check also for maybe unsolde pins or something like that, but it looks very nice to me , rock solid etc.

Thanks again for your knowledge and help.

Re: System Failed Overclock After Reboot. i dont get it. STOCK 2019/01/05 01:10:14 (permalink)
Alright so i switched up the battery for a energyzer standard one.

The lithium ion one is made in japan

The standard one is made in indonesia. seem also to fit in more comfortable ? maybe its just an impression not sure

my voltmeter read 3.267 on the lithium one.
i didnt check the standard one before installing it

Everything good so far. i also set the correct date in the bios and time

And something else i noticed is i took very closed picture of the sli bridge. 1 of the 4 pin on each connector there is 4 connector 2 for each card. around each connector there is the the foil that is welded on the sli board, the 4 solder on 1 connector, there is only 1 of all of them that have some corrosion on it, its a bit green, and the weld seem to be weaker there could that be a possibility ??? I took closer picture of the bridge and other components of the computer to compare. there should not have any corrosion at all . and here in my basement i got the perfect hnumidity and temp. its not even close to be humid and all parts are new most of it and have no corrosion. Does this can harm the system at the end like doing bad connection with corrosion etc ??? im just very curious and i like to go at the very end of something i will not be able to sleep tonight again hahahha

3 and 4 picture in the second message is what looks to me normal. and other picture is other side or different connecter on the bridge that dosent looks good. but i can clearly see some corossion on couple of spots

Re: System Failed Overclock After Reboot. i dont get it. STOCK 2019/01/06 09:29:59 (permalink)
Last update so far : rechecked every pc components. battery, graphic cards. everything for bent pins or anything suspicious. coulnt not find anything. except changing fan configuration again.  (internal wiring ) actually when booting up my board is teling me a vga red led that mean vga related problem. but it auto fix once the first failed oc occur normally the morning when starting the computer.
I didn't removed the cord overnight, I let psu like it was with the rog logo led display etc. I also tested battety again to see if the voltage was fine and I know its not very accurate when not tested in the computer but it can give an idea and voltage are staying good. the battery pin connector looks good to me. I looked every pins on the board in the pcie slot and there is not a single one missing or bent.
and so once i enter in bios when the bug occur il save and exit and normally after this i can reboot or restart plenty of time and even overclock the cpu if i want and i got the pc i was running before installing those 970. otherwise i didnt had this trouble with the gtx1060.
i did disable the 2 other pcix lane on the board switch didnt change nothing but anyway.
maybe i should start looking at the card itself now. because ive looked every parts but we didnt talked about the card itself. à
EVGA will send me a remplacement sli bridge, but to be very sure also with this one if I really need to change it im gonna take it to a different store today and compare those evga sli bridge and the welding so it will tell me if I really need to change the bridge because at the end why changing parts that dosent need to be changed.

Is there a proper way to diagnose the card itself to see if running properly

If the card plays games & passes benchmarks without issues it's fine.

well yeah i guessed this.  i didnt had a chance to get the bridge to the store to compare it in person and examine those weld spot but this even if its related or not is clearly bad welding and is clearly corosion. the 1st technician to help to troubleshot over the phone wasent a good knowledge about it, and first it tell me yeah yeah its fine. no corossion …. hum yes there is . so took to another level 2 second technician to troubleshot and examine picture.  didnt had enough knowledge to give advice. 3third technician, clrearly the same, he said they are sure its not a problem.  my opinion is this way too. and i dont want a remplacement bridge if not deffective. why change parts that is good. so at the end, i still dont know what to think. il make more investigation. but this is a time waster its incresible how much time i put in this so far. when i was running the 1060 no problem. there was a game crash at the end but this was because of overclocked cpu and new patgch 1809.
there was no error about cpu fan and 1 long beep and 3 short.and before installing my sli setup i made sure all clock cpu and memore was set to base default. just to make sure system will boot normally and if there is a problem i can investigate more easyly. the setup im using anyway ( overclocked cpu ) is pretty good. i never had a crash so far with it with the 1060 doing benchmark etc. i got the world record for the xeon 2690... not a single problem.now im stock since im in sli. i tried to oc like i was before, it goes easyly. but anyway i let it stock until i find the answer on this. however my led is red when booting and when posting and around at the same time the sli bdige fire up, the Red leg indicating vga problem disapear. and comptuter is arriving at windows password screen

il take a look on rog forum if there is somebody that have experienced this kind of problem. i mean we should get it soon im working hard on it

ive looked at bridge at the store and well looks like i was unlucky. but it should not bust up my system.

i tried different combinaison in the bios. different boot methos, fast and normal., legacy driver, uefi one. etc etc i was at a point where i was able to get the bug very regulary.

now i tried a pre-seting in the uefi i think its the standard oc one. however i canot get the bus speed pass 102. before i was able to get it to 107. but the system is not doing anymore fail overclock and cpu fan error. so i wonder if all of this could just be a setting in the bios ?
