Definitely the minority here but Super Mario Land, for the Gameboy. I played this game a ton when I was around 10-12, and could never make it past world 2. That theme song for level 1-1 hits differently man
Came back to the game years later during high school and played it on a Gameboy SP. Basically played non stop during study periods and on the bus, beat it after a week and a half. That game was surprisingly hard!

Super Mario 3 ... it was amazing for the time. The music, vibrant colors, power-ups like the Tanooki suit. What an epic game to experience when it was new.
